Right decision will be taken at the right time: Chirag Paswan on NDA's seat sharing talks in Bihar

Union Minister Chirag Paswan assures NDA seat-sharing talks progressing well in Bihar, emphasizing "Bihar First" vision ahead of assembly elections.

"I believe that the right decision will be taken at the right time - Chirag Paswan"

Khagaria, October 8

Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan on Wednesday said that seat-sharing talks in the National Democratic Alliance in Bihar are progressing well, and the right decision will be made at the right time.

His reaction came amid the reports that he is unhappy with the NDA over the seat-sharing talks for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

"I want to clearly state one thing that the discussions are going well and I believe that the right decision will be taken at the right time... As soon as the discussion is completed, it will be shared with you," Paswan told reporters.

"Chirag Paswan only demands one thing, which is to make Bihar first and Biharis first. Chirag's demand is neither regarding any post, nor regarding any anger towards anyone, nor regarding anyone's seats," he added.

Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday said that the NDA in Bihar is "completely united" and details about the seat-sharing arrangements will be provided after the talks.

He further said that talks are taking place in a very cordial atmosphere between all the parties of the alliance.

Speaking to reporters, Choudhary said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA is completely united and holding talks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha - all parties are continuously in talks with BJP leaders."

"Talks are taking place in a very cordial atmosphere, and soon you all will receive good news. The structure of the alliance, the number of seats, and other things will be explained to everyone... Detailed information will be provided after the talks," he added.

This comes after former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi shared a cryptic post on X, seemingly expressing his disappointment with NDA seat-sharing talks.

Manjhi shared a poetic verse, "Ho nyaay agar to aadha do, yadi usme bhi koi baadha ho, to de do kewal 15 gram, rakho apni dharti tamaam, HAM wahi khushi se khayenge, parijan pe asi na uthayenge." Earlier today, Union Minister and BJP in charge of the election, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and co-incharge Keshav Prasad Maurya, chaired a BJP Election Committee Meeting at the party office in Patna.

Maurya expressed his confidence and said, "Again NDA will form government in Bihar."Denying the allegation that the Bihar Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAM(S)) founder, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and the president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP(RV)), Chirag Paswan, are unhappy with the seat sharing, Maurya said that everyone is happy."Once everything (on seat sharing) is finalised, you will be informed. It will be told after the meeting. No one is angry, everyone is happy, and everyone will remain happy," he added further.

The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. The 243 Assembly seats will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled to take place on November 14.

The total number of electors in the final list stands at 7.42 crore, while there were 7.89 crore electors as of June 24 this year. An Election Commission press release stated that 65 lakh voters were removed from the draft list, and the number of electors in the draft list as of August 1, 2025, stood at 7.24 crore.

Same old political drama before every election. All leaders claim everything is fine while Manjhi ji posts cryptic messages on X. Public knows the reality 🤷‍♀️

NDA should finalize seat sharing quickly. This uncertainty affects party workers at ground level. We need clarity to campaign effectively for the November elections.

As someone who has lived in Bihar for 5 years, I hope the alliance focuses on real issues - employment, education, and infrastructure. Seat sharing should be fair to all partners.

Chirag Paswan's father was a great leader who always put Bihar first. Hope Chirag follows his legacy and gets a fair deal in seat sharing. Bihar needs stable government! 🇮🇳

Interesting to see how coalition politics works in Indian states. The balancing act between different parties must be challenging. Hope they reach consensus soon.

While I support NDA, I wish they were more transparent about these negotiations. Common voters deserve to know how alliances are formed and seats distributed.
