Flintoff became a presenter of the car show Top Gear in 2019, remaining with the programme until he sustained injuries resulting from an accident during the shoot in late 2022.

"I remember everything about it... it's so vivid," Freddie Flintoff shared at the start of the trailer for Disney+'s new doc on the ex-Top Gear host.

He referred to the terrifying high-speed crash that ended his Top Gear career, caused the former England cricketer serious facial injuries and led to a long road to recovery, reported Deadline.

Flintoff will premiere on Disney+ on April 25. In the trailer, Flintoff opens up about the terrible occurrence and others explore his career as one of the UK's most beloved sportsmen.

With exclusive access to Flintoff and featuring his wife Rachael and close friends, including Michael Vaughan, James Corden and Jack Whitehall, the film documents his compelling life story from winning two Ashes series for England to becoming a British TV host, and finally, returning to the game following the life-altering car crash in 2022, reported Deadline.

Last year, in a documentary, he shared that he "struggles with anxiety," has "nightmares" and "flashbacks" when recalling the incident.

Flintoff is directed by John Dower. It is executive produced by Flintoff, Andrew Mackenzie and Naomi Templeton for South Shore and Sean Doyle for Disney+, reported Deadline.

Respectfully, I think Top Gear needs to reconsider their safety protocols after this and other incidents. No entertainment is worth risking lives.

The way he's handling PTSD from this accident is so important to show. Mental health matters just as much as physical recovery. 👏
