Prices of farmers' agricultural equipment decreased: Chattisgarh CM highlights positive impact of GST

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has confirmed that GST reforms have led to lower prices for farmers' agricultural equipment. He highlighted how the recent tax structure changes have particularly helped the dairy sector with reduced costs. The CM explained that the GST system has been simplified from four slabs to just two, making it more efficient. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister is also promoting these GST benefits while encouraging support for local products.

Raipur, September 28

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted on Sunday that the prices of farmers' agricultural equipment have decreased due to the GST reforms.

Speaking to reporters, Sai mentioned that the GST reforms have also benefited the dairy sector.

"Our country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented GST in 2017. On August 15, 2025, he stated that he would implement reforms in GST. In just 20 days, he brought reforms. Later on 22nd September, the day Navratri was celebrated, GST reforms were implemented in this country. The four GST slabs were reduced to two slabs. Today, GST has been reduced to two slabs in 18 and 5 slabs. This has benefited both the use of dairy and your business. The use of dairy has become much cheaper. The price of agricultural machinery for farmers has also reduced in all aspects," said Sai.

The Chhattisgarh CM also claimed that the reduced GST prices have benefited all the sections in the country.

"This has benefited all the people of the country. We are continuously going to the markets, to the tractor showrooms. The prices have reduced and people are very happy," added Sai.

Meanwhile, in another part of the country, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with shopkeepers and the traders in Garhi Cantt Market, Dehradun, as part of a public awareness campaign to promote the adoption of indigenous products and spread information about the new GST rates.

During the visit, Dhami sought suggestions and feedback from the public regarding the new GST slabs and encouraged them to inform others about the reduced GST rates. The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has reduced the GST rates on several essential goods and services, directly benefiting the people. This initiative, launched as the "Next Generation GST," aims not only to provide relief to the public but also to boost trade and stimulate the economy.

Addressing the large gathering, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister emphasised that promoting local and indigenous products is the responsibility of every citizen. "Prioritising Swadeshi products will empower our farmers, artisans, and small traders, while simultaneously strengthening India's economy," CM Dhami said.

While I appreciate the reduction in equipment prices, I wish the government would also focus on making fertilizers and seeds more affordable. The overall cost of farming is still very high for most farmers.

The dairy sector benefit is a big relief! Milk products were becoming too expensive for middle-class families. Hope this brings down prices in local markets soon. 🐄🥛

Simplifying GST slabs from four to two is a much-needed reform. The previous system was too complicated for small business owners. Good move by the government! 👍

As someone who works in agricultural equipment sales in Raipur, I can confirm we've seen price reductions on many farming tools. Customers are definitely noticing and appreciating the change.

The focus on Swadeshi products is excellent! We should support our local artisans and farmers. Hope these GST reforms help boost our rural economy. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳

I appreciate the government's efforts, but implementation at ground level needs monitoring. Sometimes benefits don't reach the actual farmers due to middlemen. Hope this time it's different.
