Ambala, August 31

Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Sunday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his empathy and active engagement with citizens, describing him as the only Prime Minister who consistently remains a "companion" to the people in times of both joy and hardship.

Speaking to reporters about the 125th episode of PM Modi's monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Vij said, "Prime Minister Modi is the first Prime Minister of any country in the world who consistently remains a companion in the joys and sorrows of the people... In this 125th episode, he also expressed his condolences for the recent monsoon disaster... Along with that, he also appreciated those soldiers, institutions, and people who stepped forward to save people from this disaster."

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also lauded the programme, saying it always brought new inspiration. "In the 'Mann Ki Baat' program, Prime Minister Modi said that to enhance the talent of youth in India's border states like Jammu and Kashmir, especially in sports, major competitions are being organised... This will inspire the country's players, and they will bring glory to India on the world stage... Every time in the Prime Minister's 'Mann Ki Baat' program, something new happens... Listening to it, all of us get inspiration," Pathak told reporters.

During the 125th edition of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi also praised Jammu and Kashmir for achieving two significant milestones despite the recent floods and heavy rains.

"Amidst this devastation caused by floods and rains, J&K has also achieved two very special achievements. Not many people noticed these. But you will be happy to know about those achievements," the Prime Minister said.

He highlighted that Pulwama recently hosted its first-ever day-night cricket match, drawing a record number of spectators.

"A record number of people gathered in a stadium in Pulwama. Pulwama's first day-night cricket match was played here. Earlier, this was impossible, but now my country is changing," PM Modi said.

The district also recently hosted the Royal Premier League, a cricket tournament played under floodlights at night, marking a new chapter of hope, peace, and progress for the region.

The progress in Jammu & Kashmir is remarkable! Day-night cricket matches in Pulwama would have been unthinkable few years back. This is real development on ground.

While I appreciate the positive messaging, I hope the government also focuses on improving disaster management infrastructure. Praising relief efforts is good, but preventing losses would be better.

As someone living in Haryana, I've seen how Mann Ki Baat addresses local issues. PM Modi's outreach to border states through sports initiatives is a great way to engage youth positively.

125 episodes! That's consistency. Whether you agree with his politics or not, you have to admit PM Modi's communication strategy is unmatched. He stays connected with masses like no other leader.

The recognition of soldiers and institutions during disasters is important. Often their efforts go unnoticed. Good that PM highlighted them in his address. 👏
