Trump Threatens to Wipe Iran Off Map After US Strikes on Military Sites

US President Donald Trump announced American aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites in retaliation for violating the ceasefire. Trump threatened to wipe Iran out of existence if violations continued, stating there may come a point when the US is forced to militarily complete the job. The US Central Command confirmed additional strikes against Iranian military targets, including surveillance infrastructure and air defense sites, in direct response to an Iranian attack on a commercial tanker. The strikes come after Iran launched a drone that hit the Panama-flagged tanker M/T Kiku near the Strait of Hormuz.

US targeted Iran's missile, drone storage, coastal radar sites in tit-for-tat strikes: Trump

Washington DC, June 28

US President Donald Trump on Saturday said America struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites in tit-for-tat action for violating the ceasefire.

Trump threatened to wipe Iran out of existence if the violations continued.

In a post on Truth Social, he said, "United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN! It is very possible that they will never learn! There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist! President DJT."

Earlier in the day, Fars News Agency reported that people on the beaches and coastal areas of the Taharouyeh region in Sirik heard the sound of several explosions. Elderly residents in Qeshm too heard the sound of several explosions in this area.

The exact location and source of these explosions are still unknown, it stated.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted additional strikes against multiple targets in Iran, on Saturday (local time).

After yesterday's US strikes in response to the Iranian attack on M/V Ever Lovely, Iran was given a chance to honor the ceasefire agreement but elected not to when its forces launched a one-way attack drone that hit M/T Kiku this morning at 4:30 a.m. (local time). The Panama-flagged tanker was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz with more than two-million barrels of crude oil, a statement by CENTCOM said.

CENTCOM forces launched strikes today in direct response to continued Iranian aggression against commercial shipping. U.S. military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities.

Commercial vessel transits through the Strait of Hormuz continue. U.S. forces remain vigilant, lethal, and ready, the statement added.

Trump's rhetoric about 'wiping Iran out of existence' is alarming. This isn't just sabre-rattling anymore. Iran's proxies in Yemen and elsewhere could retaliate against shipping lanes and that hurts countries like India directly. We need a ceasefire that actually holds, not more strikes. Also, targeting civilian areas? That's never acceptable.

The US says it struck military targets, but those 'explosions heard on beaches' could affect civilians. Iran is creating this situation by attacking commercial ships, but a proportional response is needed. As someone who follows geopolitics, I see both sides being reckless. The Strait of Hormuz is a global chokepoint—India's navy should be ready to protect our interests.

My concern is for the Indian diaspora in the Gulf region. Many work in UAE, Oman, Qatar. If this escalates, their safety and jobs are at risk. Plus, oil prices will hit our economy hard. Trump's 'America First' approach doesn't consider collateral damage to allies like India. We need to engage diplomatically with both US and Iran before this gets worse.

Iran attacked a commercial tanker carrying 2 million barrels of oil. That's piracy in international waters. The US responded to defend freedom of navigation. India depends on these sea lanes for energy and trade. I support targeted strikes against military infrastructure, but Trump's 'wipe them out' talk is irresponsible. Let's hope cooler heads prevail.
