Opposition wants to attain power for vested interests, says Punjab CM

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann criticizes traditional political parties, accusing them of seeking power for personal gains instead of serving people.

"The people of the state have lost their faith in the traditional political parties - Bhagwant Mann"

Bathinda (Punjab), Oct 11

Slamming the Opposition for misleading propaganda against the state government, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said leaders of the Opposition just want to attain power for their vested interests and settling scores rather than serving the people.

Addressing the gathering after dedicating a railway over bridge here, the Chief Minister said the Opposition leaders "are eagerly waiting for returning to power in the hope of teaching me a lesson for my several pro-people initiatives rather than serving the state".

He said these leaders have no vision for the state or its people but they just want to attain the power for muzzling the voice of the common man.

CM Mann said these leaders have plundered the wealth of the state for their vested political interests due to which people had ousted them.

The Chief Minister said the traditional political parties are envious of him because they are not able to digest that the son of a common man is governing the state effectively.

"The people of the state have lost their faith in the traditional political parties because of their anti-people and anti-Punjab stance." Mann said the people of the state will forgive these parties who have ruined the state.

The Chief Minister said these people have only 'one-way' pockets as they can acquire the money through illegal means rather than giving it to the people.

He said former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has distributed the money of 'Golaks' to the people rather than from his own business.

Taking a dig over Badal's claim of being a farmer, the Chief Minister said the Akali leader should tell the secret how a flourishing transport business and hotels can be constructed from a chunk of land.

He said everyone knows that the Akalis had mercilessly plundered the wealth of the state due to which all these businesses have been set.

While I support the current government, this kind of political blame game is getting repetitive. Instead of just criticizing opposition, show us more development work on ground. Actions speak louder than words!

Mann ji is absolutely correct about Badal family. Everyone knows how they built their empire while claiming to be farmers. Their transport business and hotels didn't come from farming income, that's for sure!

As someone who has lived in Punjab for 5 years now, I've seen how politics works here. The opposition really does seem more interested in settling scores than actual governance. Hope this government delivers on its promises.

Ye sab neta ek jaise hain. Pehle opposition ko gaali dete hain, phir jab opposition mein hote hain toh sarkar ko. Koi asli kaam ki baat karega? Punjab ko development chahiye, na ki sirf political speeches. 🤷‍♀️

At least Mann sahib is speaking boldly against corruption. Previous governments never had this courage. Punjab needs this clean-up, even if it takes time. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
