NDA is completely united: Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary ahead of assembly polls

Bihar Deputy CM confirms NDA alliance unity under Modi leadership as seat-sharing talks progress cordially ahead of November elections.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA is completely united and holding talks - Samrat Choudhary"

New Delhi, October 8

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar is "completely united" and details about the seat-sharing arrangements will be provided after the talks.

He further said that talks are taking place in a very cordial atmosphere between all the parties of the alliance.

Speaking to reporters, Choudhary said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA is completely united and holding talks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha - all parties are continuously in talks with BJP leaders."

"Talks are taking place in a very cordial atmosphere, and soon you all will receive good news. The structure of the alliance, the number of seats, and other things will be explained to everyone... Detailed information will be provided after the talks," he added.

This comes after former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi shared a cryptic post on X, seemingly expressing his disappointment with NDA seat-sharing talks.

Manjhi shared a poetic verse, "Ho nyaay agar to aadha do, yadi usme bhi koi baadha ho, to de do kewal 15 gram, rakho apni dharti tamaam, HAM wahi khushi se khayenge, parijan pe asi na uthayenge."

Earlier today, Union Minister and BJP in charge of the election, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and co-incharge Keshav Prasad Maurya, chaired a BJP Election Committee Meeting at the party office in Patna.

Maurya expressed his confidence and said, "Again NDA will form government in Bihar."

Denying the allegation that the Bihar Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAM(S)) founder, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and the president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP(RV)), Chirag Paswan, are unhappy with the seat sharing, Maurya said that everyone is happy.

"Once everything (on seat sharing) is finalised, you will be informed. It will be told after the meeting. No one is angry, everyone is happy, and everyone will remain happy," he added further.

The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. The 243 Assembly seats will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled to take place on November 14.

The total number of electors in the final list stands at 7.42 crore, while there were 7.89 crore electors as of June 24 this year. An Election Commission press release stated that 65 lakh voters were removed from the draft list, and the number of electors in the draft list as of August 1, 2025, stood at 7.24 crore.

Manjhi's poetic tweet clearly shows some dissatisfaction. These "cordial atmosphere" claims sound like typical political talk before elections. Let's see what actually happens with seat distribution.

As someone observing Indian politics, it's interesting how alliance politics works in Bihar. The seat-sharing negotiations seem quite complex with so many parties involved. Hope the final arrangement benefits the people.

Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi both represent important communities. Hope their concerns are addressed properly in seat sharing. Alliance unity is crucial for NDA's victory in Bihar.
