"The government is making sustained investments in the IT sector as part of its broader vision to create a digitally empowered and economically self-reliant youth population," said the Chief Minister. “The presence of global and national IT players is helping to position Meghalaya as a preferred destination for technology businesses. The state has skilled human resources, and the government is supporting IT-enabled services, which will open opportunities for the youth of the state,” the Chief Minister added.

As someone from Shillong, I'm excited but cautiously optimistic. We need to ensure local youth actually benefit from these opportunities. Hope the government provides proper training programs to bridge any skill gaps before these companies start hiring.

Great initiative! But the government must also focus on improving internet infrastructure in rural Meghalaya. What's the point of digital empowerment if connectivity remains poor in villages? The digital divide needs to be addressed first.

Wonderful to see Meghalaya emerging as a tech hub! The focus on AI and blockchain is forward-thinking. Hope this creates reverse migration where talented professionals return to the Northeast instead of moving to Bengaluru or Hyderabad.

The research grant expansion is equally important. Digital growth must be complemented with strong academic foundations. More power to Meghalaya! Maybe we'll see the next big tech innovation come from Shillong soon 😊
