A delegation of MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be attending the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in two groups.

Rai told ANI that the "unofficial" delegation will comprise MPs from various parties.

The first group will attend the UNGA from November 14 to 18, while the second group will attend from November 27 to 30. Each group will consist of 15 members from different political parties.

The first group includes PP Chaudhary (BJP), Anil Baluni (BJP), Captain Brijesh Chowta (BJP)

Nishikant Dubey (BJP), Ujjawal Deora Nikam (BJP), S Phangon Konyak (BJP), Medha Vishram Kulkarni (BJP), Poonam Ben Maadam (BJP), Rajeev Rai (Samajwadi Party), Kumari Selja (Congress), Vamsi Krishna Gaddam (Congress), Vivek Tankha (Congress), T Sumathy (Congress), Sribharat Mathukumilli (TDP), NK Premchandran (Revolutionary Socialist Party)..

This delegation showcases India's diverse political representation on the global stage.

On being part of an unofficial Parliamentary delegation attending the UNGA, Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai told ANI that I have also been nominated, and with the permission of my leadership, I am also going as part of the delegation. We will be given a big platform to raise national and international issues. For us, our nation is supreme... In the first batch, 15 members will be going. Another batch of 15 members will be going in the third week.

He also says that the UNGA is a significant platform. Before this, with the blessings of Akhilesh Yadav and the party, I was also part of the delegation after Operation Sindoor. Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) has always taught us that the nation always comes first... When no one would raise their voice, Netaji spoke against Chinese aggression 9 times in the Parliament. Samajwadi Party was the first to support the surgical strike... I thank my party. It is because of them that I have got this big platform...

The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly aims to promote global cooperation, peace, and sustainable development, aligning with the theme "Better Together "80 years and more for peace, development, and human rights.

Why is this an "unofficial" delegation? Shouldn't such important international representation be formal and coordinated? Taxpayers' money is involved after all. Need more transparency in these foreign visits.

Good to see MPs from regional parties getting this opportunity. India's voice at UNGA should represent all states and regions. Hope they highlight our development achievements and counter anti-India propaganda effectively 🇮🇳

While the representation is good, I hope this isn't just another foreign junket. These MPs should come back with concrete action plans and learning that benefits our country. Accountability is key!

The "Better Together" theme aligns perfectly with India's philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (world is one family). Hope our delegation promotes this ancient wisdom at the global platform.

Nice to see women MPs included in both groups! Hope they raise gender equality and women empowerment issues prominently. India has made significant progress in this area that needs global recognition 👩‍💼
