"The IAEA group at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant reported that it heard hundreds of small arms shots last night. — IAEA"

Zaporizhia, July 13

A group of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) heard gunfire last night in the vicinity of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). This was announced on July 13 by the agency's press service.

"The IAEA group at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant reported that it heard hundreds of small arms shots last night," the organization said in a statement on its social network page.

The IAEA stressed that this is a sign of military activity that could pose a threat to the station.

On July 12, the Director General of the IAEA announced that the organization had been informed about a Ukrainian drone strike on the administration of Energodar in the Zaporizhia region. He stressed that such incidents could further jeopardize nuclear safety during the conflict in Ukraine. (ANI/MIC Izvestia)

Why isn't the international community doing more? As a country that understands nuclear safety (remember Pokhran tests), India should take leadership here. The world can't ignore this danger!

While the situation is worrying, I think the IAEA report might be exaggerating. Nuclear plants have multiple safety layers. Still, better safe than sorry - hope both sides show restraint.

This is why India was right to maintain strategic autonomy! We need our own nuclear security policies without blindly following Western narratives. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

The media should focus more on this instead of celebrity gossip. Nuclear safety affects us all - radiation doesn't respect borders. Hope our scientists at BARC are monitoring the situation closely.

Respectfully, I think the article could provide more technical details. Just saying "hundreds of shots" doesn't tell us about actual risk levels. As an engineer, I'd like to see more data on safety protocols.

This war is affecting global food and energy supplies. As an Indian housewife, I'm already seeing cooking oil prices rise. When will world leaders understand that war helps no one? 😔
