HANGZHOU, Oct. 9

The all‑electric Farizon SV has been named a finalist for the 2026 International Van of the Year (IVOTY) award.

An expert jury representing 26 countries selected the SV from the latest light commercial vehicles launched globally. The IVOTY winner will be revealed at the Solutrans commercial vehicle expo in Lyon, France, on 19 November. Why the Farizon SV stood out

- Efficiency and safety were key criteria for jurors. The SV combines several innovations designed to boost cargo capacity, driving comfort and on‑road safety.

- Notable features include drive‑by‑wire controls, a hidden B‑pillar that increases usable load volume, and cell‑to‑pack battery packaging to maximize space.

Practical capability for businesses

- Payload: up to 1,465 kg.

- Load volume: up to 13 m3.

- Ultra‑low loading height: just 550 mm -- easier and faster loading for goods handlers.

Comfort and standard equipment

- Farizon offers a single, well‑equipped trim with features often reserved for higher segments: payload monitoring, heated seats, heated multifunction steering wheel, heated windscreen and a 360 degrees surround‑view camera (market dependent).

- A comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package is included. The SV has earned a five‑star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Battery, performance and charging

- Battery options vary by market: 49 kWh, 67 kWh or 83 kWh -- and in some markets 66 kWh or 106 kWh.

- Peak power up to 200 kW (272 PS) and torque up to 343 Nm.

- WLTP range: up to 551 km (342 miles) in city cycle, up to 398 km (247 miles) combined.

- Fast charging: 20-80% top‑up in as little as 36 minutes (depending on charger and model).

Statements from the industry

- Jarlath Sweeney, IVOTY chairman, noted the industry shift toward emission‑free solutions and welcomed new manufacturers that push innovation and competition.

- Cook Xue, CEO at Farizon Auto International, said the shortlist recognizes years of development and global rollout across Europe, the Gulf and Asia Pacific. He called the nomination a credit to Farizon's engineering and production teams and said the company looks forward to the November result.

- The IVOTY winner will be announced at Solutrans in Lyon on 19 November. The Farizon SV remains a strong contender thanks to its blend of range, payload, safety and practical features aimed at fleet operators.

Impressive specs but I'm concerned about the charging infrastructure in India. 36 minutes for 20-80% is good, but we need more fast charging stations across highways and cities. The government should focus on this alongside promoting EVs.

The hidden B-pillar design is brilliant! More loading space means fewer trips for delivery businesses. Combined with the low loading height, this could really improve efficiency for small business owners like me who run a grocery delivery service.

Five-star Euro NCAP rating is reassuring. Indian roads can be challenging, and having comprehensive ADAS and safety features will protect drivers. Hope Indian manufacturers take note of these safety standards.

The heated seats and steering wheel might not be very useful in most parts of India, but the 360-degree camera and payload monitoring are excellent features for our crowded cities. Perfect for e-commerce delivery fleets.

While the specs look promising, I hope the pricing will be competitive for Indian market. Many international EVs come with premium pricing that makes them inaccessible to small businesses. Fingers crossed for affordable electric mobility! 🙏
