Everyone should stand together when it comes to national security: Sena's Naresh Mhaske

Shiv Sena MP backs PM Modi's Operation Sindoor praise as Congress questions celebrations amid Parliament adjournment over Pahalgam attack debate.

"This is true that everyone should stand together when it comes to national security - Naresh Mhaske"

New Delhi, July 21

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Operation Sindoor as "Vijay Utsav," Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske on Monday said that everyone should stand together when it comes to the matter of national security.

Speaking to ANI, Mhaske said, "This is true that everyone should stand together when it comes to the matter of national security. The opposition should not make statements regarding the armed forces just to remain in the headlines and oppose the government..."

Meanwhile, Congress MP Praniti Shinde questioned the reasons behind celebrating Operation Sindoor, terming it "failure" of the Indian government.

"It is the failure of the Indian government that they have brought the country to the weakest point. What are you celebrating today? When we ask for a discussion in the House, he (the PM) gets up and leaves the House," she said.

Noting India's recent achievements in different sectors, including space and defence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that this Monsoon Session marks the celebration of "victory."

Addressing the media persons ahead of the commencement of the Monsoon Session, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the achievements of Operation Sindoor, saying that the whole world is attracted towards the new "Made in India form of Indian military power."

Meanwhile, the Lower House of the Parliament was adjourned until 2 pm on Monday as opposition MPs raised slogans demanding a discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and the Government's response through Operation Sindoor.

The House, which commenced operation at 11 am today, was adjourned until 12 noon following protests by members of the Opposition seeking a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the events unfolding in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam attack.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed anguish at the disruptions in the House today and appealed to members to allow debate and discussion to take place.

"This is the Question Hour and the Government is willing to discuss on every issue, the House should run and there should be discussion on every issue according to the rules and procedures," Birla said.

As Opposition members continued their sloganeering, he adjourned the House till 2 pm.

While I support our forces, I wish the government would be more transparent about Operation Sindoor's details. Healthy debate strengthens democracy, not weakens it.

The opposition's constant negativity is frustrating! When ISRO succeeds, when Army succeeds, they still find faults. At least appreciate our nation's achievements!

Both sides need to behave responsibly. Government should allow discussions, opposition should avoid unnecessary drama. Parliament is not a reality show!

Operation Sindoor has shown the world India's strength 💪 But we must also address why terror attacks keep happening. Strong response is good, prevention would be better!

As a military wife, I'm tired of seeing our soldiers' sacrifices become political footballs. Please have some respect for our forces, whether you're in government or opposition.

Watching from abroad, India's political polarization worries me. The world respects nations that stand united. Hope you find common ground on security matters.
