Good to see a swift response with 12 fire tenders. But this is a recurring issue – short circuits in commercial complexes. Municipal corporations need to be more proactive with regular inspections, not just reactive after the fire. Shop owners also must invest in proper wiring and fire extinguishers.

My heart goes out to the owners of Padmani Jewellers and Balaji Steel. Losing your business like this is devastating, even if no one was hurt. Hope they had adequate insurance. The community should support them to get back on their feet.

Positive to see local leaders and the Mayor on the ground immediately. Coordination between different departments (fire, police, municipal) seems to have worked well here. This should be the standard protocol for every city in Chhattisgarh.

While the response was good, the article mentions "further investigation is underway" twice. It feels like a standard line. The public deserves a detailed report on the exact cause and what measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Transparency is key.

No lives lost is the biggest relief. Fire safety is often neglected in our markets until a disaster happens. Hope this serves as a wake-up call for Korba and other cities. Time for mandatory fire drills and safety training for all shopkeepers and staff.
