As someone from Assam, I'm thrilled to see our government promoting our cultural festivals. The Raas Mahotsav in Majuli is truly spectacular - the human-performed Raaslila is something every Indian should experience at least once.

As a foreign tourist who visited Majuli last year, I can say the Raas festival is absolutely mesmerizing. Creating a proper tourism circuit will make it easier for international visitors to experience this beautiful celebration.

While I appreciate the initiative, I hope the government ensures that commercialization doesn't dilute the spiritual essence of the festival. These are sacred traditions, not just tourist attractions.

The diversity in how Raas is celebrated across Assam - human performances in Upper Assam and clay idols in Lower Assam - shows our cultural richness. This circuit will help people appreciate both traditions.
