"Won't allow criminal aggressor to go unpunished": Iran's Supreme Leader issues stern warning, declares victory

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei declares victory, vows aggressors won't go unpunished and demands compensation in West Asia conflict.

"We will certainly not let the criminal aggressors go free. - Mojtaba Khamenei"

Tehran, April 10

Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, vowed that Iran will not let the US-Israel go "unpunished for their aggression" and demand compensation for the destruction and more control over the Strait of Hormuz during the negotiations talks in Islamabad.

Addressing the nation, Mojtaba Khamenei also declared victory in the West Asia conflict, hailing the people's and armed forces' courage to face the aggression.

"Today, and up to this point, it can boldly be said that you, the heroic nation of Iran, have been the definitive victor in this arena," Khamenei said in a statement attributed to him.

"By the permission of Almighty God, we will certainly not let the criminal aggressors go free. We will certainly demand compensation for every injury inflicted, blood money for the martyrs, and reparations for the disabled veterans of this war, and we will certainly advance the management of the Strait of Hormuz to a new stage," he added.

Supreme Leader urged people to continue to gather on the streets to form human defence chains, warning that the announcement of a temporary ceasefire hasn't stopped the conflict entirely

"If, for instance, the turn of the period of silence on the military battlefield has necessarily arrived, the duty of those individuals among the people who have the possibility of being present in the squares, neighbourhoods, and mosques appears heavier than before. Certainly, your cries in the squares are effective in the outcome of the negotiations," he added.

"With our entire being, we have hope in Imam Mahdi's (aj) special supplications for a decisive triumph over the enemy, both in negotiations & on the battlefield. We pray that both our adversaries & us will witness the miraculous effect of those prayers very soon, God willing," Mojtaba Khamenei said.

The fragile ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran hangs in the balance as Israel continues to strike southern Lebanon, despite Iran's claims of the region being included in the temporary agreement.

Both Washington and Israel have maintained that the ceasefire does not extend to Hezbollah targets, a disagreement that has further complicated diplomatic efforts and heightened the risk of the truce collapsing.

Declaring victory while urging people to gather in the streets? This seems more about consolidating power internally than achieving peace. The ceasefire is clearly fragile. India has strong ties with both the Gulf and the West; this is a tightrope walk for our foreign policy.

The demand for "blood money" and reparations is a very serious claim. The human cost of any conflict is tragic. As a nation that values peace, India should advocate for dialogue and humanitarian assistance, not further posturing. Our priority must be the safety of Indians in the region.

The Strait of Hormuz is a lifeline for our energy imports. Any talk of "advancing management" there by one party is alarming. We need diversified sources and the Chabahar port operational fast to reduce this strategic vulnerability. Jai Hind!

With respect, declaring victory seems premature when the ceasefire is hanging by a thread. The real victory is lasting peace. India's stance of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world is one family) is needed now more than ever. Hope wisdom prevails on all sides.

The disagreement over Hezbollah is the key flashpoint. This isn't just a US-Iran issue. It draws in the whole region. India's balanced approach is its strength, but it will be tested. The economic fallout from instability will hit us all.
