Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp reunite with director Robert Eggers for the film, after previously working together in 'Nosferatu'.
Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson are also returning for the upcoming horror period piece.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is so versatile! From Kick-Ass to this monstrous role - what a transformation. But I'm a bit worried it might be too scary for me. 😅 13th-century England with fog and folklore... reminds me of our own Indian folk tales about bhoot-pret. We have so many rich horror stories too, wish someone would make films like this from our mythology.
Focus Features backing Eggers again is great news. 'Nosferatu' was a masterpiece - those Oscar nominations were well deserved. But I do find it slightly repetitive seeing the same cast (Taylor-Johnson, Depp, Dafoe) in every Eggers film. Would be nice to see him work with fresh talent too. Still, the atmosphere in the trailer looks absolutely chilling!
As someone who loves horror but also respects culture, I appreciate that Eggers doesn't just make mindless horror. His films have historical depth. But I hope this one doesn't glorify violence against women like some werewolf movies do. Lily-Rose Depp was brilliant in 'Nosferatu' - hope she gets a meaningful role here too. And can we talk about that cinematography? 😍
Is it just me or does the title 'Werwulf' feel a bit... try-hard? Could have just gone with 'Werewolf'. But Eggers has earned the benefit of doubt. His attention to historical detail is unmatched. Remember how 'The Northman' felt like a time capsule? Expecting the same immersion here. Just hope the scares are organic and not reliant on loud noises. 🤞
