It's good to see both the central and state governments stepping up with compensation quickly. The combined support should help the families in this terrible time. But the real issue is the short circuit - how many more lives will be lost before we fix our crumbling electrical infrastructure in old buildings?

Very sad news. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. 🙏 The swift response from the authorities is commendable. However, I respectfully feel the condolences from leaders on X, while important, must be matched with concrete, long-term action to prevent such incidents. Fire safety cannot be an afterthought.

This is so tragic. Nine lives lost to a short circuit, which is often preventable. My heart goes out to the families. The different compensation amounts from the PM and CM might cause confusion on the ground. Hopefully, the families receive the support seamlessly without bureaucratic hassle.

Om Shanti. A terrible way to start the day for those families. The compensation is a good gesture, but what about accountability? Was the building following fire norms? We hear about these "short circuit" fires every other month. Time for municipal corporations to do their job properly.

So painful to read. As a Delhiite, this hits close to home. Many buildings in older colonies are death traps. Condolences are not enough. We need a massive public awareness campaign about fire safety and regular checks by the fire department. Prayers for the injured to recover soon.
