Tom Hardy Likely Out of Mobland Season 3 After Set Clashes

Tom Hardy is unlikely to appear in a third season of Mobland, according to Variety. The actor was reportedly not asked back due to onset issues with executive producer Jez Butterworth. Hardy’s role as fixer Harry Da Souza helped make the show Paramount+’s second most-watched series. This follows a history of set clashes, including with Charlize Theron on Mad Max: Fury Road.

Tom Hardy will not appear in a third season of the series 'Mobland', according to Variety. The makers have already wrapped production on Season two.

According to Variety, Hardy will not appear in a third season of the Paramount+ crime drama.

Citing sources, the outlet reported that Hardy was not asked to return to the series following onset issues with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others. The actor or the makers have not yet confirmed the exit of Tom Hardy.

The actor plays the role of fixer Harry Da Souza in the series, which launched on Paramount+ last spring and quickly became the second most-watched series on the platform.

'Mobland,' which was created by Ronan Bennett, stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine. It follows the Harrigan crime family, headed by Brosnan's Conrad and his wife, Maeve (Mirren). Considine plays their son Kevin.

Butterworth wrote all ten episodes alongside Bennett.

It's not the first time Hardy has clashed with colleagues on set. He notoriously fell out with co-star Charlize Theron on the set of "Mad Max: Fury Road," with director George Miller later revealing he had to be "coaxed out of his trailer," reported Variety.

Kyle Buchanan also wrote in 'Blood, Sweat, and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road,' a book about the making of the film, that Hardy was 'aggressive' during filming.

Honestly, it's not surprising. Hardy has a reputation for being difficult on set. The show can still work with Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren leading the cast. They're legends. Let's see if the showrunners can pull it off without him.

I was really looking forward to seeing more of Harry Da Souza. He brought such intensity to the role. But if there were behind-the-scenes issues, it's better they part ways. No point creating a toxic work environment. Hope Hardy reflects on this. 🙏

Makers should have handled this more professionally. If Hardy is out, they need to announce properly instead of letting rumors fly. Also, comparing this to his Mad Max drama is a bit unfair—he was great in Venom. But a bit of discipline would help him go far. 😅

I don't watch much Western crime dramas, but I know Tom Hardy is a huge name here in India too. It's disappointing for fans who loved his character. But respect goes both ways—if he clashed with the producer, maybe it's for the best. Let's move on.

This is sad news. Hardy's role in Mobland was fantastic. I understand there might be friction, but the show will definitely feel his absence. Still, the casting of Brosnan and Mirren is solid—let's hope Season 2 is good enough to keep the audience engaged for a third.
