Demi Moore Stuns at Cannes 2026 with Dramatic Curly Lob Makeover in Sapphire Blue Gown

Demi Moore stunned at the 79th Cannes Film Festival with a dramatic curly lob makeover, trading her signature long waves for a vintage-inspired shoulder-length style. The 63-year-old actress wore a custom sapphire blue Self-Portrait gown with an oversized bow detail, completing the look with a statement necklace and black pumps. The hairstyle, created by celebrity stylist Dimitris Giannetos, comes months after she debuted a wet-look bob at Gucci's FW26 fashion show in Milan. Moore continues to stay busy on screen, starring in the film I Love Boosters and the Paramount+ series Landman.

Cannes, May 22

At the glittering premiere of La Bola Negra during the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival, all eyes were on Demi Moore as the Hollywood icon unveiled a dramatic new hairstyle that instantly became one of the festival's most talked-about beauty moments, according to People.

The 63-year-old actress traded her signature ultra-long brunette waves for a glamorous shoulder-grazing curly lob, delivering a bold transformation on the red carpet. Styled with a deep side part and soft voluminous curls that delicately brushed her shoulders, the fresh look added vintage glamour to her already striking appearance.

Moore arrived in a custom sapphire blue gown by Self-Portrait, designed by the fashion house's founder and creative director Han Chong and crafted in the label's London atelier. The floor-length ensemble featured an oversized bow detail and elegant short train, perfectly complementing the actress' sophisticated new image. She completed the look with a statement necklace, black sling-back pumps and her signature confidence, as per the outlet.

The dramatic hairstyle switch comes just months after Moore surprised fashion fans at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year. During Gucci's FW26 Fashion Show at Palazzo Delle Scintille on February 26, the actress debuted an edgy wet-look bob created by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos.

Sharing the inspiration behind the viral style, Giannetos revealed, "I wanted to give Demi a very bold and fashion forward look for Demna's show. It is inspired by the silhouettes of the new collection. I felt an amazing, short, above the shoulder bob with this very sleek wet texture would be perfect to complement her look," according to People.

He added, "It's a big change for Demi -- we've never seen her like this before! She looks very cool, effortless and modern. And it highlights her personality."

For the Milan appearance, Moore embraced full runway drama in an all-black leather look styled by celebrity stylist Brad Goreski. The outfit featured a fitted leather jacket, slim black pants, oversized sunglasses, black stilettos and a structured handbag -- all from Gucci under new creative director Demna Gvasalia.

Beyond dominating fashion headlines, Moore continues to stay busy on screen. The actress stars in I Love Boosters, which opens in theaters, and also appears in the hit Landman series on Paramount+, according to People.

Honestly, I prefer her long hair. The lob makes her look a bit too much like every other Hollywood actress trying to reinvent themselves. She's iconic enough without the gimmicks. But ya, the blue gown is stunning — very Deepika Padukone in Bajirao Mastani vibes!

63 and serving looks better than women half her age! That Self-Portrait gown is pure perfection — the sapphire shade is so regal. And the curly lob? Chef's kiss! 🤌 Makes me want to chop off my own hair. Demi Moore just keeps proving why she's a legend.

I appreciate the bold move, but that wet-look bob at Gucci was better. This just looks... ordinary for Cannes? Still, she's Demi Moore — she can wear anything and make it work. The actress is unstoppable at this stage of her career.

Can we talk about how she's promoting an indie film like I Love Boosters while looking like a queen? That's what I call class. The gown, the hair, the attitude — pure Hollywood royalty. And she's doing it at 63. Indian actresses in Bollywood could learn from this!

That hair transformation is dramatic, but I'm more impressed by her choice of a relatively unknown fashion house. Self-Portrait getting Cannes exposure is huge for a contemporary brand. And honestly, the deep side part is very old-school Bollywood glamour — reminds me of Rekha.
