T'gana govt provided over one lakh jobs in two years: MP Vamsi Krishna

Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna says Telangana govt provided over one lakh jobs in two years, with 15,000-20,000 more expected soon.

"The main goal of the Congress government is to provide employment to every unemployed youth. - Gaddam Vamsi Krishna"

Hyderabad, May 6

The Congress government in Telangana provided employment to more than one lakh youth in just two years while another 15,000 to 20,000 jobs expected soon through skill development initiatives, said Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna.

He was addressing a mega job fair organised in his constituency Peddapalli on Wednesday as part of the 99-day Praja Palana- Pragati Pranalika initiative.

State IT minister Sridhar Babu also participated in the programme.

Vamsi Krishna said the main goal of the Congress government is to provide employment to every unemployed youth. He urged the youth to work hard and make the best use of the opportunities being created.

He highlighted that the state currently has 65 Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) imparting modern skills to the unemployed.

"Another 120 new ATCs are coming up across Telangana, which will generate 15,000 to 20,000 additional job opportunities in the coming days," Vamsi stated.

The MP stressed that skills aligned with current industry needs are essential for securing good jobs.

He requested the government to organise a similar job fair in Mancherial district as well.

Minister Sridhar Babu said that these job fairs are being conducted to encourage the youth.

He noted that 4,000 job opportunities have already been provided through TASK, with 1,500 candidates from the shortlist securing placements so far.

He also announced that a job fair will soon be organised in Mancherial to benefit local youth.

The mega job fair saw enthusiastic participation from large numbers of unemployed youth who interacted with recruiters and explored various employment avenues.

Earlier, Vamsi Krishna, along with Sridhar Babu, inaugurated the TASK-AVGC & Artificial Intelligence Center and TASK-CtriLS Talent Center in Manthani.

The MP advised youth to get trained in modern fields like Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), as they offer vast employment opportunities.

"These centers will serve as a platform for rural students to learn world-class technology. Through this talent center, jointly established by Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, training tailored to the needs of the industry will be provided," Vamsi explained.

He added the main objective is to bring rural youth closer to the digital world.

It's great to see the Congress government focusing on skill development for rural youth. The AVGC and AI centers could be a game-changer for students from small towns like Manthani. But I hope the government also creates more local jobs so people don't have to migrate to Hyderabad.

As someone who works in tech, I'm glad Telangana is investing in AI and AVGC training. These fields have huge potential. However, the real test will be whether these 15,000-20,000 jobs come through and if they pay decent salaries. Let's see the follow-through.

Good initiative, but I wish they'd also focus on traditional sectors like agriculture and manufacturing. Not everyone can or wants to be in AI or gaming. Still, 4,000 jobs through TASK is a start. Hope this benefits the youth of Peddapalli and Mancherial genuinely.

I appreciate the transparency about job numbers—1 lakh in two years is notable. But I wonder about job quality and retention. Many such fairs lead to temporary gigs. Hope these are sustainable careers with benefits. The skill centers are a smart move though. 🇮🇳

Finally some concrete action! For too long youth in Telangana struggled for jobs. The ATCs and AI centers are a step in right direction. But please ensure these jobs don't only go to those with connections. Transparent recruitment is key. 🙏
