The Union Budget 2026 is expected to focus on economic stability, public consumption, and simplifying compliance mechanisms, with a possible emphasis on manufacturing, agriculture, green energy, and MSMEs.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the Lok Sabha as part of the ongoing Budget session of Parliament. Telangana BJP leader said that the southern state will be allocated its share of the budget.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and MoS Pankan Chaudhari arrived at the Kartavya Bhawan on Sunday ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget 2026-27 in the Lok Sabha during the ongoing Budget session of Parliament.

Sitharaman is set to present her ninth consecutive Union Budget, which will see her equal former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's record and surpass that of Pranab Mukherjee.

Former Prime Minister Morarji Desai continues to hold the record for presenting the most Union Budgets in independent India.

According to the Lok Sabha Business List, the House will meet at 11 am. Sitharaman will present a statement of the estimated receipts and expenditure of the Government of India for the year 2026-27.

The Finance Minister will also lay on the table two statements under Section 3(1) of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act, 2003. These include the Medium-term Fiscal Policy-cum-Fiscal Policy Strategy Statement and the Macro-economic Framework Statement.

The List of Business further states that Sitharaman will move for leave to introduce the Finance Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha. She will also formally introduce the Bill.

The Finance Bill gives legal effect to the government's financial proposals.FM Sitharaman is set to present India's ninth consecutive Union Budget. On Thursday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey of India in Parliament for the financial year 2025-26. The tabling of the Economic Survey ahead of the Budget follows the long-standing tradition of outlining the state of the economy before detailing future fiscal plans.

The Economic Survey of India is regarded as the nation's official annual "report card" on the economy. It provides a comprehensive, data-backed review of the economy's performance over the previous year and offers a broad roadmap for future policy direction. As the government's flagship annual report, it reviews key economic developments over the past 12 months.

As someone who recently moved to Hyderabad for work, the traffic is a major concern. Investing in public transport like the Metro expansion is a smart move. Also, cleaning the Musi River would be fantastic for the city's environment.

I'll believe it when I see it. Every budget there are big announcements for the state, but the ground reality in our villages hasn't changed much. Need more focus on rural healthcare and schools, not just Hyderabad projects.

Setting up an IIM in Hyderabad is excellent news! It will boost education and create a talent hub. The textile park and semiconductor focus can generate so many jobs for our youth. Good forward-thinking proposals.

The sewerage master plan is long overdue. The current state of drains in many parts of the city is terrible, especially during monsoon. Hope this gets priority allocation. Public health depends on it.

While infrastructure is important, I sincerely hope the budget also has substantial allocations for women's safety initiatives and skill development programs in the state. Growth should be inclusive.
