Surbhi Chandna opens up about egg freezing: I am scared of the hormonal imbalance

Actress Surbhi Chandna shared her views on the increasing trend among actresses and female celebrities to freeze their eggs to ease the pressure of the biological clock.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Surbhi said that although she supports all the women who decide to freeze their eggs, she herself does not feel the need to go this way, as she believes in letting things take their natural course.
The 'Naagin' actress was asked, "Nowadays, a lot of actresses are getting their eggs frozen. What is your opinion on that?"
Responding to this, Surbhi shared the example of her sister, who embraced motherhood at 39 without any medical intervention.
She told IANS, "My sister delivered a boy, he is two years old now, when she was 39, and it was a normal delivery. I also believe in it, and those who think it is important to freeze their eggs, very nice, but like my gynac told me, there will be a lot of hormonal imbalance if you go through it."
"I feel every child comes into this world with their own fate. I don't know what will happen, but I feel that my sister, who has a flying job, putting her body through a lot of stress, can have a child naturally, I also want to go the natural way."
Surbhi further admitted that she still kind of fears the hormonal imbalance associated with the process of freezing eggs.
"I don't know when we are going to plan, but it will happen when the time is correct. Whenever it happens, it will be a God's gift," she concluded.
On the work front, Surbhi has made her debut as a producer with the new Balaji Digital show 'Ishk Dum Aur Idli Rasam', under her home banner Feel Good Studios.

Respect her honesty, but I think she's being a bit dismissive of women who choose this route. For many working women, especially in demanding careers like acting, egg freezing is a practical choice. Not everyone can or should wait for "fate" to decide their family planning timeline. Just saying.
Her sister's example is inspiring! My mother also had me at 38 naturally, and I'm perfectly healthy. We Indians put too much pressure on women to have children early. It's refreshing to see someone like Surbhi who isn't afraid to go against the trend and trust her body. 🙌
I appreciate Surbhi's perspective, but I wish she would be more careful with her words. Saying "every child comes into this world with their own fate" can be hurtful to couples struggling with infertility who have tried everything. The decision to freeze eggs is deeply personal, and both choices should be respected equally.
As a man, I don't get why people are making such a big deal of this. It's her body, her choice. If she wants to go natural, great. If other women want to freeze, that's their right too. Bollywood needs more such candid conversations about women's health instead of hiding behind taboos. Good on Surbhi for speaking up!
