RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Says Success Attracts Jealousy in Politics

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said success in politics naturally creates jealous detractors. He emphasized resilience during adversity as the key to success, drawing from the message of Lord Krishna in the Gita. Bhagwat also reflected on Partition, calling survivors "warriors" who chose their country over property. He stressed that education is for wisdom, starting at home with the mother as the first teacher.

Success attracts jealously in politics: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

Nagpur, July 2

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday that resilience during adversity is the secret for success, adding that in politics someone's success automatically makes detractors jealous.

Addressing a programme organised here by Sindhu Education Society, Bhagwat added that our message to humanity should be that we should not live for ourselves but instead we should live for others .

"We should live with integrity, and we should teach the same to everyone, not by speaking, but through actions and setting an example," the RSS Chief said.

Referring to the message of Lord Krishna to Arjun in Gita, Bhagwat called for facing adversity with resilience and not giving up.

The RSS Chief said, "The God has told Arjun in Gita that running away will be a disservice to you, if you fight and win then you will get wealth, if you kill then you will get such salvation which even great yogis do not get."

"There is no harm in standing firm, being adamant, fighting, there is no harm in running away, losing, getting disappointed, this is a part of life. If one door closes, then another door opens somewhere. It is just a passing phase," Bhagwat added.

The RSS Chief also reflected on the concept of all-round knowledge and said education to fill the stomach is necessary but not compulsory.

"People grow up without education and employ educated people. Education, actually, is for gaining wisdom. It starts from home and the first teacher is the mother," Bhagwat said.

Referring to the killings of people during India's Partition, Bhagwat said people lost everything but did not sit crying, they came here after losing everything and established themselves once again.

"A person should accept destiny. He should try. Everything gets fine by trying. One has to wait and fight. One who fights, achieves something or the other, hence, never lose hope in life, never run away," he added.

The RSS Chief said that during Partition people came here leaving behind their earnings, property, business, farming and everything they had been doing for generations.

"They were not refugees, they were definitely displaced people. The wrong word was used for them at that time," he added.

"They were warriors. They came here because of their love for their motherland and religion. They had lost a battle, we all had lost the battle to keep India united, but what did they choose? They did not choose a career, they did not choose property, they chose the country, they chose the religion, because, as I said, circumstances change, status comes, status goes," the RSS Chief said.

I appreciate the message about not living for ourselves alone. But I wish the RSS would focus more on education reform rather than just philosophical talks. "Education to fill stomach is necessary but not compulsory" - tell that to the millions of poor kids who can't afford school. Implementation matters more than speeches.

Very inspiring talk! The Gita message about fighting despite fear is timeless. In today's competitive world, we need that never-give-up attitude. Success definitely attracts jealousy - I've seen it in my corporate life too. Good on Bhagwat ji for addressing this openly. 🙏

"Success attracts jealousy" - absolutely true in Indian politics. Look at how opposition parties constantly target successful leaders. But I do wish Bhagwat ji had mentioned concrete examples instead of just general philosophy. Actions speak louder than words, as he himself said. Still, overall a good speech for motivation.

The Partition point is so powerful. My family was displaced from Sindh and they never called themselves refugees - they said 'we came to our own country'. That spirit of sacrifice for motherland and religion is something modern India needs to remember. Chalo, time to work hard like our ancestors! 💪

Bhagwat ji's words on resilience are good, but I'm tired of hearing the same abstract messages from RSS leaders. Why not talk about real issues like unemployment, corruption, or farmer problems? Philosophy is fine but practical solutions are needed. Also, the Partition reference feels like unnecessary historical baggage being brought up again.
