Good to see our southern states taking the lead in diplomacy. Kerala's connection with Sri Lanka makes perfect sense. Hope this leads to more direct flights and easier visa processes for tourists from both sides.

While strengthening ties is important, I hope discussions also touched upon the welfare of the Indian fishing community. There have been tensions in the Palk Strait, and any partnership should address the concerns of our fishermen.

JVP has a strong leftist history. Interesting to see them engaging with both Kerala's left government and Gujarat's model. Shows India's diverse political landscape can engage with all parties in our neighborhood. Smart diplomacy.

The blue economy focus is crucial. Both nations have long coastlines and can collaborate on sustainable marine resources, port development (like Vizhinjam), and disaster management. This is forward-looking.

Cultural ties are the bedrock. The mention of the sacred relics of Lord Buddha exhibition is key. Shared Buddhist heritage can be a powerful soft power tool for India in the region. More such exchanges, please!
