Reform express won't stop, it will continue: PM Modi
New Delhi, June 14
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that India's reform momentum will continue unabated, asserting that the country's startup ecosystem is poised for further expansion.
Addressing the 'Bharat Innovates' event in Nice, France, PM Modi highlighted India's emergence as the world's third-largest startup ecosystem and invited innovators from across the globe to collaborate with India in developing technological solutions for global challenges.
"The number of startups in India will continue to grow as the country remains committed to reforms and innovation-driven development," the Prime Minister stated.
He noted that India has built a strong innovation system over the last 12 years and has emerged as the world's third-largest startup ecosystem.
"Over the past 11-12 years, India has built a strong ecosystem for innovation. From patent filings to incubation networks, and from Startup India to policy support, this entire journey has progressed forward in mission mode," Prime Minister Modi noted.
Inviting global innovators to work with India, the Prime Minister said the country's young innovators are developing solutions that have the potential to benefit humanity. "Come, collaborate with India and develop technological solutions for the world," he said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the special partnership between India and France, describing it as a relationship built on connection, conviction, innovation, inspiration, shared values and a common vision for the future.
"In this relationship, there is connection, and there is conviction as well. In this relationship, there is innovation, and there is inspiration, too. In this relationship, there are shared values and a shared vision as well," PM Modi noted.
"And on the foundation of this very relationship, over the past years, we have together launched new initiatives. We have given direction to new ideas. And we have made every possible effort to find solutions to global challenges. Whether it is the International Solar Alliance, dialogues related to AI, or our partnership ranging from security to sustainability," the PM explained.

Interesting perspective from PM Modi in France. As someone who works in tech in the US, I've seen how India's innovation is growing. The partnership with France on solar energy and AI sounds promising. But I hope the reforms also focus on grassroots issues like education and healthcare in rural areas.
Modi ji is absolutely right! India is becoming a global hub for innovation. I've seen so many young people in my city starting their own ventures. The government's support for startups and patent filings is really helping. This is the new India! 🇮🇳
I appreciate the intent, but as a student in a tier-2 city, I don't see much of this 'innovation culture' trickling down. While startups in metros are thriving, many of us still lack access to proper incubators and mentorship. Hope the reforms reach everyone, not just the urban elite.
Loved the way PM Modi described the India-France relationship—connection, conviction, innovation, inspiration. It's inspiring to see India taking lead in global collaborations like the International Solar Alliance. Our young innovators are truly making us proud! ✨
As an investor from the UK, I've been watching India's startup scene closely. The clarity on reforms and the 'mission mode' approach is exactly what we need for long-term partnerships. PM Modi's pitch to global innovators is timely and well-articulated.
