Punjab poised to elect BJP-led 'double-engine' govt in 2027, says Haryana CM

Chandigarh, June 3

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's growing political momentum in Punjab, saying the state is poised to elect a BJP-led "double-engine" government in the 2027 Assembly elections.

He said that under the leadership of newly appointed Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, the party would further strengthen its grassroots presence and emerge as a credible vehicle for development, good governance and economic progress in the state.

The Chief Minister was addressing party workers and leaders after attending the programme held on the occasion of assumption of office by Dhillon as the Punjab BJP President in Chandigarh.

Extending wishes to the new Punjab BJP President, Chief Minister Saini said that Dhillon's organisational experience, public connect and commitment to the party's ideology would provide fresh impetus to the party's expansion in Punjab.

He added that the BJP is an ideology-driven organisation where national interest and public service remain paramount.

The BJP's commitment to nation-building and welfare-oriented governance, he said, has enabled it to emerge as the world's largest political party.

Highlighting Punjab's immense contribution to the nation, Chief Minister Saini said the state has historically played a pivotal role in safeguarding national security, strengthening the agricultural economy and driving industrial growth.

He also added that the people of Punjab aspire for greater development, employment opportunities, prosperity and transparent governance, and said the BJP is committed to fulfilling these aspirations through inclusive and development-oriented policies.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that under Dhillon's stewardship, the party organisation would gain renewed energy, strategic direction and organisational strength.

This, he said, would further deepen the party's engagement with the people and accelerate its outreach across urban and rural Assembly constituencies alike.

Referring to the transformative governance initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister added that India is progressing rapidly towards becoming a developed nation.

He said that once a BJP-led double-engine government is established in Punjab, the state would witness a new phase of growth marked by increased investment, industrial expansion, infrastructure development and enhanced employment opportunities for the youth.

Calling upon BJP workers to intensify organisational efforts, the Chief Minister urged them to take the party's policies, achievements and development agenda to every village, town and polling booth across the state.

He said the coming years would open new opportunities for Punjab and that the people would increasingly support a political culture rooted in development, transparency and accountability.

Chief Minister Saini also appealed to the people of Punjab to collectively contribute towards restoring the state's position among the country's leading and most progressive regions, emphasising that sustained development and good governance can only be achieved through collective participation and a shared vision for the future.

Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, former Punjab BJP Chief Sunil Jakhar, Member of Parliament Satnam Singh Sandhu and several senior party leaders were present.

BJP ne Sikh leaders ko haasil karne ki koshish toh shuru kar di hai... Kewal Singh Dhillon ek experienced face hain. Agar party Punjab mein real development kare — roads, schools, hospitals, aur employment — toh log zaroor support denge. But bas vada nahi, kaam bhi dikhna chahiye. 👍

Interesting to see this optimism from a neighboring state. Punjab has unique challenges — border security, agricultural reforms, and industrial stagnation. The 'double engine' model worked in some states but failed in others. Let's see if the BJP can actually crack the Punjab code by 2027. 🤔

Yaar, Haryana CM ka Punjab mein aakar yeh kehna — thoda ajeeb lagta hai. Punjab ki apni alag pehchan hai, alag issues hain. Lekin sach yeh hai ki AAP ka bhi record perfect nahi hai. Agar BJP real mein Punjab ke liye kaam kare — specially youth employment aur drug mukt Punjab — toh log soch sakte hain. Par abhi toh bas bhashan lag raha hai. 😅

Honestly, Punjab needs real change — not just political slogans. The drug crisis is destroying our youth, farmers are struggling, and industries are shutting down. If BJP can deliver on infrastructure and governance like they claim, good. But people are tired of empty promises. Time for action, not press conferences. 🙏
