Finally! He should have gotten this years ago. An actor of his calibre, who carried an entire industry on his shoulders for decades, deserves every bit of this award. His speech shows his true character – giving credit to everyone who helped him. Respect!
As someone who discovered Bengali cinema through 'Jubilee', it's wonderful to see Prosenjit Chatterjee honoured. His performance was phenomenal. It's great the Padma awards recognize talent from all regional cinemas, not just Bollywood.
While I'm happy for him, I do wish the Padma Shri list was a bit more balanced sometimes. There are so many unsung heroes in rural arts and crafts who never get this spotlight. Just a thought – the award is great, but the selection process could be more transparent.
Bhalo laglo! (Feels good!). My parents grew up watching his films, and now I watch his web series. A true legend who evolved with the times. 'Baishe Srabon' is a masterpiece. This award belongs to every Bengali film lover.
His humility is commendable. In an industry often marked by ego, his statement that the award "belongs to everyone who made me" is refreshing. Congratulations to a stellar artist.
