NEET-UG re-exam: City intimation slips released, students can check their details
New Delhi, June 7
The National Testing Agency on Sunday released the city intimation slips for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test re-examination, allowing lakhs of students to check the details ahead of re-examinations, slated in a fortnight on June 21.
The students can check their allotted examination city by logging into the official website and can also download the document from the NEET portal, after following the due process of logging in and entering their credentials.
The NTA made this announcement in a social media post on X on Sunday and informed that the admit cards for the examinations will be released separately.
The NTA, taking to X, said, "City Intimation Slip is now LIVE. Candidates can now check their allotted examination city for NEET-UG 2026. Log in with your Application Number and password to view and download your slip."
Further, urging the student not to confuse it with the examination verification slip, it said, "This is the City Intimation Slip - NOT the Admit Card. The Admit Card will be released separately, closer to the exam date."
The NTA release comes on the back of a huge uproar and furore over NEET paper leaks, leading to the cancellation of pan-India examinations held on May 3.
The re-examinations are now slated for June 21 and will see 23 lakh students taking up the examinations again.
According to the official notice, the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. in pen and paper mode. The examination will be held across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
Notably, the city intimation slips are issued by the NTA, in advance to inform the candidates about the place and venue of examination centres. This helps them plan and prepare better for the examinations while ensuring that they stay near the centres to maximise their effort as well as output.

City intimation slip is fine, but why can't they release the admit card along with it? Adding to students' anxiety. My cousin is preparing for this and the uncertainty is killing him. NTA needs better planning.
Good to see NTA being transparent. But the whole paper leak situation was a disaster. Students in small towns like mine lost weeks of preparation. I just hope the re-exam centres are accessible. Not everyone can travel far.
Finally some action. But the question is—will the re-exam be fair? Malpractices in such high-stakes exams have become too common. If NTA doesn't use AI-based proctoring and multiple layers of security, we're just repeating the cycle.
My daughter is so relieved that the city details are out. She can now book a hostel near the centre. These small steps matter a lot for students from Tier-2 cities. Thank you, NTA, but please ensure no more hiccups.
Having worked in Indian education, I know how stressful these exams are. The re-exam date being June 21 is close, but the city intimation slip helps with logistics. I hope the authorities learn from this debacle and implement stricter measures.
