Amaravati, June 5

The National Democratic Alliance partners in Andhra Pradesh, during a coordination meeting on Thursday, finalised the seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with the TDP set to contest three seats, while the Jana Sena Party will contest one seat.

The meeting also coincided with discussions marking two years of NDA governance in Andhra Pradesh and 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership at the Centre.

Addressing the media after the meeting, NDA leaders outlined a series of statewide outreach programmes aimed at highlighting governance and development initiatives. They announced major public meetings in Tirupati on June 9, Amaravati on June 12, and Visakhapatnam on June 15. The Tirupati meet will focus on welfare, Amaravati on good governance, and Visakhapatnam on development, with district-level programmes scheduled between June 13 and June 20.

TDP Andhra Pradesh President Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the NDA will jointly take its governance record to the public, highlighting the achievements of both the Central and State governments over the past two years.

He said, "The NDA will jointly reach out to people with the achievements of the Central and State Governments over the past two years. Public meetings will be held in Tirupati, Amaravati and Visakhapatnam focusing on welfare, good governance and development."

Rao also detailed the district-level campaign schedule and organisational discussions held during the meeting.

He said, "District-level outreach programmes on two years of governance will be conducted from June 13 to June 20. The campaign schedule will be released shortly. The SIR preparations were also discussed during the meeting. It was decided that TDP will take three Rajya Sabha seats and Jana Sena one seat."

Minister Nadendla Manohar said that the NDA will take its development and welfare initiatives, implemented by both the Central and State governments, directly to the people as part of a coordinated outreach programme.

He said, "The NDA will take the development and welfare initiatives implemented by the Central and State Governments to the people. Union Ministers will participate in the programmes organised by NDA partners. The campaign will highlight 24 major initiatives undertaken during the alliance government's 24 months in office."

He further said the outreach is aimed at strengthening public engagement and support for the alliance.

He said, "Through this outreach, the NDA will once again seek the blessings of the people. The Jana Sena Party's Rajya Sabha candidate will be announced by the party leadership."

BJP State President P V N Madhav said that the NDA will reach out to people across Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the benefits of alliance governance.

He said, "The NDA will reach out to people, highlighting the benefits delivered through two years of alliance governance in Andhra Pradesh and 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership at the Centre. The campaign will showcase the development and transformation brought about by the NDA governments at both the national and state levels. The Chief Minister suggested launching the campaign from June 9, marking the anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi assuming office."

He outlined key issues that will be highlighted during the outreach programme across the state.

He said, "Issues such as industrial investments, Polavaram, Amaravati development and the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone will be highlighted before the public. The BJP, TDP and Jana Sena remain united and committed to working together for the state's development. Attempts to create divisions within the alliance will not succeed, and the NDA will continue to move forward as one team."

Polavaram, Visakhapatnam railway zone... same promises from last 10 years! When will they actually start work? Every election they talk but ground reality is different. At least NDA should ensure these projects see light of day before next elections. Public meetings in Tirupati and Amaravati are just photo opportunities.

Interesting to see how the alliance is solidifying after the election victory. I've been following AP politics for a while, and this coordinated outreach strategy from Tirupati to Visakhapatnam seems well-planned. The focus on welfare, governance, and development in different cities shows they're covering all bases. However, I hope the promises translate into actual infrastructure and job creation for the youth.

Finally some positive political news from Andhra! After all the drama of previous years, at least NDA seems stable. 24 initiatives in 24 months is impressive if true. And PM Modi's 12 year anniversary event is well timed. But please don't make this just about photo ops - people need jobs, roads, and irrigation water. Polavaram is key! 🌊

Honest question: What exactly have they done in these 2 years? CM Chandrababu Naidu is good but the state still faces power cuts in summer, farmers are struggling, and Amaravati development is slow. RS seat sharing is just internal politics. Show us results on ground, not just press releases. Still, better than previous alliance mess. Let's hope for real change this time.
