MP Government Ramps Up NEET Re-Test Security Across 283 Centres

The Madhya Pradesh government has intensified preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination with enhanced security measures. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed arrangements and ordered installation of biometric machines, CCTV cameras, and signal jammers at all 283 centres by June 19. Additional police personnel will be deployed at high-density centres, and city buses will operate in Bhopal and Indore to ease transport. The state aims to set a benchmark for future competitive exams through these arrangements.

MP govt steps up NEET re-test preparations, tightens security at 283 centres

Bhopal, June 17

The Madhya Pradesh government has stepped up preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination and put in place strict security measures to ensure its smooth and transparent conduct, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Wednesday.

"The state government is continuously coordinating with the Central government regarding NEET exams in Madhya Pradesh. All arrangements are being made in accordance with the guidelines received from the Centre so that incidents of irregularities witnessed in the past do not recur," CM Yadav told reporters.

The re-examination will be conducted at 283 centres across 30 districts of the state.

Reviewing preparations with senior officials, the Chief Minister directed authorities to ensure foolproof arrangements at all centres.

CM Yadav said special attention was being given to security and verification processes. He instructed the Higher Education Department to complete the installation of biometric machines, CCTV cameras and signal jammers at all centres by June 19.

A trial run of these systems will be carried out on June 20.

The Chief Minister also directed Collectors, Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to closely monitor preparations and strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) laid down for the examination.

Highlighting security arrangements, CM Yadav said additional police personnel would be deployed at centres where a large number of students are expected.

"During NEET, when students arrive from 11 a.m. onwards, their verification and other procedures will be carried out. We have instructed officials that wherever a large number of students are coming, especially in major cities, additional forces should be deployed," he said.

The state government has also made arrangements for parents and guardians accompanying candidates. Facilities, including refreshments, will be provided at centres where required. To ease transportation-related issues, city buses will be deployed in Bhopal and Indore, which have a large number of examination centres.

During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that district-level coordination committees and control rooms have already been set up. Nodal officers have been appointed for groups of examination centres, while assistant sub-inspector-level police personnel have been deployed at every centre.

CM Yadav said the arrangements being made for NEET should become a benchmark for conducting other competitive examinations in the state in the future.

Good steps but why only now? Students have been through so much anxiety. The SOP should have been in place from day one. Hope this re-test is truly fair and transparent - our future doctors deserve it.

The bus facility in Bhopal and Indore is a thoughtful touch! Many students from outside cities struggle with transport. And refreshments for parents? Makes me feel the government is finally listening. 👏

Setting a benchmark for other exams is a great vision. But let's be honest - these measures should have been standard years ago. Better late than never, but our education system needs systemic change, not just Band-Aid fixes.

As someone who missed normal NEET due to the leak, I'm cautiously optimistic. 283 centres across 30 districts - seems comprehensive. Just hope the trial run on June 20 catches any bugs. We can't afford another mishap! 📚

It's good to see CM personally reviewing - shows accountability. But I wish they'd also address the mental health impact on students. All these last-minute changes cause so much stress. A helpline for anxious students would be nice.
