Margot Robbie reveals "codependent" bond with Jacob Elordi on 'Wuthering Heights' set

Margot Robbie reveals a "mutual obsession" with Jacob Elordi while filming 'Wuthering Heights,' describing a uniquely close on-set relationship.

"I'm so codependent with people I work with... I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob too. - Margot Robbie"

Washington DC, January 21

Actress Margot Robbie opened up about developing a "codependent" relationship with Jacob Elordi while filming Emerald Fennell's upcoming adaptation of Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights', according to People.

In a recent interview, Robbie, 35, described how she quickly grew attached to her Australian co-star. "I'm so codependent with people I work with and I love everyone so much... I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob too," she said, as quoted by People.

Robbie recalled how Elordi, 28, often stayed nearby on set, observing her performance as Cathy. "By the third day of filming, I found myself starting to look around to see where he was. When it turned out he wasn't watching, I was really unnerved... I felt quite lost, like a kid without their blanket," she added.

"We have a mutual obsession," agreed Elordi. "If you have the opportunity to share a film set with Margot Robbie, you're going to make sure you're within 5 to 10 meters at all times, watching how she drinks tea, how she eats her food. ... She's just like an elite actor," as quoted by the outlet.

Elordi and the cast also recalled filming in the English countryside, even playing Kate Bush's song "Wuthering Heights" on the Moors to get in the spirit.

"It was this really sort of profound thing, being Heathcliff and Cathy," said the actor, "watching the sunset on the Moors as the spirit of [these] characters have for the last 200 years. You can almost imagine that the spirit of this love that Brontë created is floating around there. It really did feel like we were catching little pieces of that unrequited love," as quoted by People.

Wuthering Heights, costarring Shazad Latif, Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, Charlotte Mellington, and Owen Cooper, is co-produced by Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment, the same company behind Barbie and Saltburn. The cast filmed on the English Moors, playing Kate Bush's iconic song to capture the spirit of Brontë's classic tale.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on February 13.

"Codependent" is a strong word, no? Sounds a bit intense for a professional workspace. Hope it's just creative passion and doesn't cause issues. Still, Margot Robbie is a phenomenal actress, so the film should be good.

Love that they played Kate Bush on the Moors! That's the kind of dedication that makes art special. Wuthering Heights is such a passionate, tragic story. If they've captured even a fraction of that feeling, it will be worth watching.

It's fascinating to get a peek into the actor's process. That feeling of being "lost" when your scene partner isn't watching... it shows how much they rely on each other's energy. Sounds like a very intense but rewarding shoot.

Good to see Shazad Latif in the cast! Always nice to see talented actors of South Asian origin in big international projects. The whole team seems top-notch. Releasing on Feb 13... a Valentine's week release for a story of doomed love. Perfect timing!

Honestly, the article feels a bit like PR talk to build hype. "Mutual obsession"? Maybe tone it down a bit. Just make a good film, yaar. That said, I'm a sucker for period dramas and will probably watch it anyway.
