K'taka: Over 1.1 crore electors marked as ASDDO in roll revision

Karnataka's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has identified 1,10,97,426 electors, accounting for 20.02 per cent of the state's electorate, as ASDDO, while the Election Commission said that 99.97 per cent of Enumeration Forms have been digitised ahead of the August 8 deadline.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, on Wednesday said that all 5,54,32,314 Enumeration Forms have been printed and distributed, achieving 100 per cent coverage.
Of these, 5,54,14,689 forms, or 99.97 per cent, have already been digitised. This includes 4,43,17,263 Enumeration Forms, accounting for 79.95 per cent of the total electorate, while 1,10,97,426 electors, or 20.02 per cent, have been marked as ASDDO.
The data further showed that 16,27,642 electors (2.94 per cent) were found to be untraceable or absent during the verification exercise. A total of 66,62,257 electors (12.02 per cent) were identified as permanently shifted, while 16,31,245 electors (2.94 per cent) were reported as deceased. Another 6,90,581 electors (1.25 per cent) were found to have already enrolled elsewhere, and 4,85,701 electors (0.88 per cent) were categorised under "others."
The CEO's office stated that nearly 100 per cent of the Enumeration Forms distributed under the SIR have been digitised, with only 17,625 forms remaining to be processed.
According to the CEO's office, Karnataka had a total of 5,54,32,314 electors as on June 16, 2026, and Enumeration Forms for all eligible voters have been printed and distributed to Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The house-to-house enumeration and digitisation exercise, which began on June 30, will continue until August 8.
The CEO's office said that 6,91,174 Enumeration Forms, or 1.25 per cent, have been submitted online by electors. Only 17,625 forms, representing 0.03 per cent of the total, remain pending for digitisation.
The list of electors marked as ASDDO has been shared with recognised political parties and is also available with BLOs for public verification.
The CEO's office clarified that electors who believe they have been incorrectly marked as ASDDO can approach their respective BLOs or Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to have their Enumeration Forms restored before the deadline of August 8.
To facilitate fresh enrolment in Bengaluru's BBMP and Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) areas, the Election Commission has printed and distributed 10 lakh copies of Form 6 to the concerned EROs.
The CEO's office also informed that eligible applicants can submit Form 6 for new voter registration, Form 6A for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) voter registration, Form 7 for deletion of names from the electoral roll, and Form 8 for correction of entries either offline through BLOs or online using the ECINET mobile application or the Election Commission's voter portal.
Applicants seeking enrolment must ensure they are Indian citizens, have attained or will attain the age of 18 years as on October 1, 2026, are ordinarily residing at the address mentioned in the application, are not enrolled as voters elsewhere in India, and submit the prescribed supporting documents along with the required declaration.
Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbu Kumar also appealed to all eligible citizens turning 18 years of age on or before October 1, 2026, to register themselves as voters by submitting Form 6 along with the prescribed declaration and supporting documents either online or through their respective BLOs.

12% permanently shifted? That's a lot of people moving around. In Bengaluru especially, people change houses so often for work that updating the electoral roll is a real challenge. At least now there's a proper process to correct it before August 8.
This is good governance at work. Digitising 99.97% of forms shows real effort. But I'm concerned about the 2.94% untraceable voters - how can someone just disappear? Need stricter address verification when people register initially.
As a young voter who just turned 18, I appreciate the CEO's appeal to register. The online Form 6 submission through the ECINET app is really convenient. No excuses for eligible youth not to vote now! 🗳️
The system is improving but 20% ASDDO is still concerning. My own uncle was marked as shifted even though he lives at the same address for 30 years! The BLOs need to be more careful, many genuine voters could lose their voice. Hope the August 8 deadline helps people correct these errors.
Good to see the Election Commission being proactive about NRI voters too with Form 6A. My brother lives in the US and always struggles with these things. The online portal makes it easier for him to stay registered back home.
