Keralam: KSRTC Budget Tourism Cell releases new souvenir in Kannur

Kannur, June 9

The Keralam State Road Transport Corporation Budget Tourism Cell has released a souvenir as part of its tourism initiatives.

The souvenir was unveiled by Kannur District Budget Tourism Cell Coordinator KR Thanseer, who handed over the first copy to TV Murali Krishnan, Deputy Tahsildar of Kannur Taluk and a regular participant in KSRTC budget tourism trips.

The programme was led by Budget Tourism Cell Kannur Unit Coordinator Rajeesh and organisers of the Kannur Budget Tourism Travellers' Collective, Jayaprakash and Janeesh. The souvenir was released during a trip to Palakkayam Thattu, a popular tourist destination. Conductor Rajesh led the journey.

Earlier on May 24, the KSRTC Minnal bus met with an accident at Palarivattom in Ernakulam, officials said.

The accident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday, around 4 AM, when the Kanyakumari Palakkad service bus reportedly lost control and skidded into a roadside drain, according to officials.

A major mishap was averted narrowly, and no serious injuries were reported among the passengers, the police informed.

Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.

That's a nice step, but why are they talking about an accident from May 24 in the same article? The bus mishap at Palarivattom is concerning - narrow escape indeed! Hope KSRTC focuses more on safety rather than just souvenirs. 🚌

I've traveled on KSRTC buses during my trip to Kerala last year. The budget tourism cell is actually quite innovative - they organize affordable trips for locals. A souvenir from Kannur seems fitting given its rich history and theyyam traditions. Good to see this!

While I appreciate the tourism efforts, I wish the article had more details about what's in the souvenir - is it a booklet, a video, or something else? Also, the accident mention feels random. KSRTC needs to ensure their buses are well-maintained, especially on those ghat roads near Kannur.

Kerala's tourism potential is immense! Palakkayam Thattu is one of my favorite spots - the cloud view is magical. This souvenir idea is great for promoting offbeat destinations. Just hope the KSRTC improves bus safety after that Palarivattom incident. 🙏

As a regular budget traveler from Kannur, I'm happy to see our district getting recognition. The KSRTC budget tourism trips are very popular among middle-class families. But news about the Minnal bus accident is worrying - thank god no one was seriously hurt! Safety first, always.
