Jackie Shroff wishes Dimple Kapadia 'happiness always' on her 69th birthday
Mumbai, June 8
Veteran actor Jackie Shroff extended warm birthday wishes to actress Dimple Kapadia on her 69th birthday.
Jackie took to his social media account and shared a collage featuring some stunning portraits of Dimple Kapadia from different phases of her life and career.
He wrote, "Happiness Always! #HappyBirthday," celebrating the actress on her special day.
Adding a nostalgic touch to the tribute, Jackie used Dimple Kapadia's popular song, 'Tera Naam Liya' by Manhar Udhas and Anuradha Paudwal as the background music.
Talking about Dimple Kapadia, the actress remains one of Indian cinema's most celebrated actresses.
She made her Bollywood debut opposite Rishi Kapoor in the 1973 blockbuster 'Bobby', directed by Raj Kapoor. The film turned her into an overnight sensation and established her as one of the most promising newcomers of the 70s era of Bollywood.
Soon after the success of 'Bobby', Dimple married superstar Rajesh Khanna. She was just 16 years old at the time, while Khanna was 31.
The actress then stepped away from films to focus on her family life and raising her daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna.
After years away from the silver screen, Dimple made a remarkable comeback with the 1985 classic 'Saagar', directed by Ramesh Sippy.
Over the years, she went on to deliver memorable performances in films such as 'Arjun', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Rudaali', 'Krantiveer', 'Dil Chahta Hai', 'Being Cyrus', 'Luck by Chance', 'Finding Fanny', 'Tenet', 'Pathaan' and most recently 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar'.
On the personal front, Dimple is the mother of author and former actress Twinkle Khanna and actress Rinke Khanna. She is also the mother-in-law of actor Akshay Kumar, who is married to Twinkle.

Wow, I didn't know she married Rajesh Khanna at 16. That's quite an age gap. But she's clearly made her own mark - Rudaali and Dil Chahta Hai are iconic performances. Respect for her comeback!
Jackie and Dimple - two legends sharing screen space in films like 'Ram Lakhan' and 'Pathaan'... and now this sweet birthday wish! The old-school Bollywood camaraderie is something else. Happy 69th, Dimple ji! 🎂
Dimple Kapadia's journey is inspiring - from being a teenage bride to becoming one of the most versatile actresses. Her role in 'Tenet' showed she can shine on a global stage too. Wishing her good health and happiness! ✨
I love how Jackie chose 'Tera Naam Liya' - that song is so evocative of the 90s era. Dimple Kapadia is truly an icon. But I wish the article had mentioned her acclaimed performances in indie films like 'Leela' and 'Turning 30' too. Still, a lovely tribute! 🎶
