Thank God no casualties reported 🙏. But this is a stark reminder of how vulnerable our rural communities are. A double-storey house and cowsheds gone in minutes - that's a family's entire life savings. The administration must ensure quick relief and also investigate why such fires occur so frequently in Kashmir.

This is so sad, especially the cowsheds being destroyed. Livestock is everything for these families. Sending strength from the US. Hope the fire services got enough support to prevent it from spreading further. India's emergency response in such remote areas always amazes me.

While it's good that no casualties are reported, we need to talk about why our fire departments in Kashmir are always under-equipped. Multiple fire tenders deployed yet still heavy damage? Also, these wooden structures in rural areas are tinderboxes. Some proactive fire safety awareness programs by the government would help a lot.
