Highlighting Dr Mookerjee's contributions across several fields, PM Modi said, "Dr. Mookerjee's contributions spanned diverse spheres. He was an outstanding thinker and educationist, who supported innovation and futuristic learning. Above all, his steadfast commitment to the unity and integrity of India remains an enduring source of inspiration."

"As we move forward in our journey towards a Viksit Bharat, his vision continues to illuminate our path," the Prime Minister added.

PM Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse, saying that Dr Mookerjee's sacrifice for India's unity, integrity and self-respect would continue to inspire every generation.

The verse read: "Those noble souls and great figures who have performed exemplary deeds for society or made the ultimate sacrifice become immortal. Although their physical bodies may perish, their legacy, their "body of renown", knows no fear of old age or death; they live on forever in history."

Dr. Mookerjee's sacrifice for Jammu & Kashmir's integration is something every Indian should know. He opposed Article 370 from the very beginning and gave his life for the cause. His words about 'one country, one flag, one constitution' are now coming true under the current government. Truly inspiring.

While I respect his contribution, I wish the focus was more on actionable policies to implement his vision rather than just commemorative posts. The problem of Kashmir and national unity needs sustained effort, not just symbolic gestures. Still, a good moment to remember his legacy.

The PM's gesture is meaningful, but I hope this isn't just political rhetoric. Dr. Mookerjee stood for secular nationalism and inclusive development. His work during the Bengal famine shows his humanitarian side. Let's honor him by actually working towards a Viksit Bharat that benefits all, regardless of religion or region. 🙏

Dr. Mookerjee is a forgotten hero for many young Indians. His role in the partition of Bengal and his opposition to appeasement politics is textbook material for nationalists. The government should include more about him in school textbooks. His ideas are timeless. 🔥

Nice to see cross-party respect for his legacy. But I wish our leaders would also discuss how to address regional disparities in development, which was close to his heart. The 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision needs concrete steps for states like West Bengal and J&K. Anyway, happy birth anniversary to a great son of India.
