Gurugram, August 24

In view of heavy rainfall in Gurugram on August 24 and the possibility of waterlogging and traffic congestion across the district, the District Disaster Management Authority, Gurugram, has advised corporate offices, government and private schools and other institutions to guide their employees and staff to work from home on August 25.

The advisory was issued by the District Magistrate-cum-Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority, Gurugram, on August 24. The authorities said the measure was aimed at reducing traffic congestion and facilitating repair and maintenance work on roads and drains by civic agencies.

According to the advisory, heavy rainfall in the district on Monday has raised the possibility of waterlogging at various locations, which could affect the movement of traffic. Corporate offices and government and private schools and institutions in the district have therefore been advised to guide their employees and staff to work from home on August 25.

The administration said the work-from-home advisory would help avoid traffic congestion and allow civic agencies to carry out repair and maintenance work on roads and drains more smoothly.

The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has also requested citizens to cooperate with the advisory and plan their travel accordingly.

The advisory has been forwarded to the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), Gurugram, for wide publicity. It has also been sent to the District Education Officer/District Elementary Education Officer (DEO/DEEO), Gurugram, for information and for communicating the advisory to private and government educational institutions.

The advisory comes after heavy rainfall in Gurugram on August 24, with several areas waterlogged.
