The list of attendees reads like a who's who of Gujarat BJP. While the intent for new candidates is good, I hope this isn't just for show. Local elections are about real issues - water, roads, sanitation. Let's hope the final candidates are people who understand these ground realities.

"Not only office-bearers, but even members of their families will not be given tickets." If implemented properly, this could be a game-changer to break the dynasty politics at the local level. Waiting to see the first list on April 10th.

Interesting to follow the political process from abroad. The scale is massive - over 10,000 seats! The three-day deliberation shows how seriously they are taking candidate selection. Hope the new candidates focus on development.

With the model code of conduct already in place, the real test begins now. Candidate selection is always a tricky business with so many aspirants. Hope they choose people with a clean image and a will to work, not just party loyalists.

As a resident of a municipality, I've seen how local corporators make a direct difference. The rule about age and terms is good, but experience also matters. A balanced approach is needed. Also, hoping for better women representation this time! 🙏
