Seven lives lost in a building collapse – this shouldn't have happened in the first place. While ex-gratia is necessary, we also need strict action against builders who cut corners. Our city's infrastructure safety needs urgent attention, yaar.
Proud of our CM Rekha Gupta for responding positively. The compensation process should be transparent and without delays. Also, hats off to Satish Upadhyay ji for facilitating this meeting – local leadership matters in times of crisis. 👏
Four doctors, two cooks, one engineer – all hardworking people gone. My heart goes out to their families. FAIMA's efforts are commendable but I wish the association had also raised the issue of building safety standards in Delhi. Prevention is better than compensation, na?
It's heartening that the Delhi government is cooperating. But we must not forget that building collapses are a recurring tragedy in Indian cities. The authorities need to conduct thorough audits of old and under-construction buildings in Saket and across Delhi. This is basic administration.
So tragic, especially for the doctors who were serving us during these tough times. FAIMA is doing a good job by following up. I hope the government expedites the process and also provides medical aid to the injured without any hassles. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
