"Every vote is crucial for Bihar's development": Nitish Kumar urges voters to back NDA's Neeraj Kumar Sinha in Bankipur by-polls
Patna, July 28
With only a few days for the Bankipur by-polls, former Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal United MP Nitish Kumar on Monday urged voters to vote for the NDA candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha.
In a video message, he said, "Voting is scheduled for July 30. With your trust, cooperation, and blessings, we have worked with utmost sincerity over the past two decades to implement good governance and development rooted in justice. Every single vote of yours is crucial to maintaining this pace of development and realizing the resolve for a developed Bihar. I urge all voters to extend their blessings to the NDA's young candidate, Neeraj Kumar Sinha, and ensure his victory by a massive margin."
BJP national president Nitin Nabin also urged voters to back NDA candidate Neeraj Sinha, describing him as a dedicated party worker who rose through the organisational ranks from booth president and mandal president to assembly nominee.
"On July 30, when NDA workers and supporters step out to vote, I am fully confident that Neeraj Sinha's victory will establish a new milestone. Today, I have come among you with a candidate who is an ordinary BJP worker--someone who started his journey as a booth president, served as a mandal president, and is now standing before you as the candidate for the BJP and the NDA alliance," added the BJP chief.
The Bankipur Assembly seat fell vacant after Nitin Nabin, who served five terms as its MLA, was elected to the Lok Sabha. The by-poll on July 30 is being viewed as a crucial test of strength in urban Bihar ahead of the broader state assembly elections.
On July 2, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for bypolls to three Assembly Constituencies in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, which includes the high-profile seats of Bankipur, Datia, and Manjalpur.
The polling for the three assembly seats in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat will be conducted on July 30 (Thursday), while the counting of votes is slated for August 3 (Monday).

Nitish ji's message is clear: steady governance matters. After all, Bihar was once a byword for bad law and order. Now, girls can study safely, and electricity reaches more homes. Neeraj Sinha seems like a grassroots worker who understands ground realities. Let's give him a chance! 🙏
"Developed Bihar" after 20 years? I'm not convinced. My family in Muzaffarpur still struggles with potholes and hospital shortages. This is just Nitish Kumar trying to hold onto power before the big assembly elections. The youth need jobs, not speeches!
Interesting how Nitin Nabin climbed from booth president to MP. That shows the BJP values party workers. But Neeraj Sinha has big shoes to fill—Nabin was a five-term MLA. Let's see if he can deliver on local issues like waterlogging in Bankipur during monsoons. 🏙️
Every vote matters, but this feels like a predictable NDA win. The real test will be whether the opposition can even put up a fight. Urban Bihar voters are smarter now—they want concrete results, not just slogans. Let's see the turnout on July 30!
Nitish Kumar's video message is a reminder of how politics works in Bihar—always about "blessings" and "trust." But I wish candidates would focus more on issues like education and healthcare instead of just vote-seeking. Still, if Neeraj Sinha is a young face, maybe he'll bring fresh energy. 🤞
