Elections over, focus on party expansion: Eknath Shinde

Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde directs Shiv Sena office bearers to focus on grassroots work and voter list review or face removal.

"those who fail to submit work reports or do not perform will be directly removed from their posts - Eknath Shinde"

Mumbai, April 8

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Wednesday asked the party's MLAs, MPs, chief coordinators, co-coordinators, and Lok Sabha coordinators to reach out to grassroots Shiv Sainiks, work promptly on public issues, and contribute actively to the party's growth.

He further instructed them to focus on party expansion as the elections are now over.

He warned office bearers that if work is not visible, they will not retain their positions. Instructions were given to appoint booth-level agents (BLAs) for a detailed review of voter lists.

Recently, Shiv Sena appointed chief coordinators, divisional coordinators, and Lok Sabha coordinators. A crucial online review and guidance meeting of these office bearers was held today in the presence of Shinde.

During the meeting, he directed ministers, MLAs, and MPs to set aside their positions and work as party workers.

Taking into account the constituency restructuring, Shinde provided a roadmap to contact heads regarding upcoming local self-government, Assembly, and Lok Sabha elections.

He clearly stated that Lok Sabha coordinators must hold separate meetings for each Assembly segment in their area and send daily reports along with photographs, which he will personally review.

Regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign implemented by the Election Commission in the state, Shinde asked chief coordinators how many block-level agents (BLAs) have been appointed so far, how many times they have visited their constituencies, and how many meetings have been conducted.

He issued a strong warning that those who fail to submit work reports or do not perform will be directly removed from their posts.

Keeping in mind the division of constituencies, he instructed that each should appoint two BLAs for a thorough review of voter lists and hold daily meetings with them.

He also emphasised that every office bearer must work with greater energy in their respective areas to make the party organisation stronger and more effective.

He instructed to conduct constituency visits and hold meetings, thoroughly review voter lists, appoint two BLAs for the SIR campaign, hold daily meetings with BLAs, and directed Lok Sabha coordinators to hold separate meetings for each Assembly segment.

The warning about removing non-performers is a strong message. In a country where political positions are often seen as rewards, this accountability is refreshing. Let's see if it's actually implemented or just political talk.

Daily reports with photos? Sounds like micromanagement. While discipline is needed, our netas should focus on solving real issues like inflation and unemployment, not just party expansion. The aam aadmi needs relief, not more political meetings.

Setting aside positions and working as party workers is the right spirit! In our culture, seva (service) is paramount. If MLAs and MPs actually connect at the grassroots, it will bridge the gap between public and representatives. 🙏

The roadmap for upcoming local body elections shows they are already in campaign mode. The political machine never stops! As a citizen, I just want the work on the ground to be visible - better roads, water supply, and schools.

Interesting to see the organizational focus. The SIR campaign by the Election Commission is vital for clean electoral rolls. If parties take this seriously, it reduces electoral malpractices. A step in the right direction for Indian democracy.
