A nice symbolic gesture, but honestly, we need more than just floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Tagore. The ground reality of border tensions and trade imbalances remains. Hope Ambassador Doraiswami brings some real substance to the table, not just photo ops. 🤷‍♀️

Interesting timing. With all the geopolitical tensions and SCO meetings happening, it's smart to start with cultural diplomacy. Gandhi's message of non-violence is exactly what's needed in these tricky bilateral relations. Let's see if this translates into meaningful cooperation on climate change and trade.

#ProudIndian moment! Our ambassador knows the importance of our cultural icons. Tagore and Gandhi have universal appeal, and this gesture in Beijing shows we're ready for mature diplomacy. Now, let's hope China reciprocates with equal respect towards our border concerns and trade issues. 🇮🇳

It's really encouraging to see cultural bridges being built through these tributes. The fact that the Chinese curator accompanied Doraiswami shows there's goodwill from both sides. Diplomacy starts with small gestures—and paying respect to Gandhi and Tagore is exactly right. Hope this leads to better bilateral ties.

While the photo op is nice, I'm more interested in what happens behind closed doors. We've had so many ambassadors come and go but the Ladakh standoff remains unresolved. Doraiswami has his work cut out for him. Let's hope he's as effective in negotiations as he is in paying tributes. 🙏
