Bihar CM inaugurates series of projects in Munger, focus on education sector

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday inaugurated a series of education and public infrastructure projects during a visit to Tarapur Assembly constituency in his home district of Munger.
The programme included the inauguration of selected model schools, a model police station, and the commencement of academic activities at a government degree college.
Samrat Choudhary arrived in Tarapur by helicopter in the afternoon, landing at Launa at around 1:35 p.m.
After receiving a guard of honour, he was welcomed by local residents and public representatives with bouquets.
From Saraswati Vidya Niketan in Launa, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated 10 high schools selected to be developed as 'model schools' in the Tarapur Assembly constituency.
During his visit to Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Choudhary inspected classrooms and interacted with teachers and students, enquiring about the teaching methods being adopted and the students' academic progress.
He also visited a science exhibition organised by the students and appreciated their innovative projects.
Several senior officials and public representatives were present on the occasion, including Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger, District In-charge and Sugarcane Industries Minister Sanjay Kumar, former MLA Rajiv Singh, Divisional Commissioner Prem Singh Meena, District Magistrate Nikhil Dhanraj Nipnikar, and Superintendent of Police Syed Imran Masood.
Following the school programme, the Chief Minister travelled by road to Harpur, where he visited the newly developed Model Police Station at around 2:20 p.m.
After being welcomed by local residents, he inaugurated the facility by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
Choudhary conducted a detailed inspection of the police station, visiting various sections of the building, including the Station House Officer's (SHO) office, lock-up, and other administrative facilities.
Later, he proceeded to Asarganj, where he formally inaugurated academic activities at the Government Degree College.
During the visit, he also interacted with local residents and heard their concerns as part of a public outreach programme.
The visit formed part of the Bihar government's efforts to strengthen educational institutions and improve public infrastructure in the region.

Inauguration is one thing, but will these model schools actually have proper teachers and facilities? We've seen many grand openings in Bihar where things fall apart after a few months. The CM should also ensure regular inspections and accountability.
As someone from Munger, this is heartening. Education infrastructure has lagged behind in our district. The model police station is also a smart move - safe schools need safe communities. Still, implementation is key. Let's see results in the next academic year.
CM visiting a science exhibition and interacting with students - this is the kind of leadership we need. But Bihar needs more than model schools. What about improving existing government schools across the state? One constituency should not get all the attention.
Model police station and college in one visit - that's genuine development. But why only 10 model schools in Tarapur constituency? We need at least 50 such schools across Munger district to make a real difference. Also, the private school lobby won't be happy!
As a teacher, I'm cautiously optimistic. Model schools are great but they need good teachers, which Bihar struggles with. CM should also focus on teacher training and digital classrooms. At least he's visiting and seeing the ground reality. Let's not be too cynical.
