Meetings are fine but the real test is when waters recede and people need to rebuild their lives. Hope the discussions lead to concrete action - permanent flood control structures, better early warning systems, and adequate compensation for crop losses. Assam has been suffering this annually for decades.

Impressive to see the Assam CM taking proactive steps. This kind of coordination between state and central government is what good governance looks like. Hope similar attention is given to other flood-prone states too.

"Unprecedented level of development" - sounds good but floods in Assam are a recurring tragedy. Instead of just relief, we need long-term solutions like dredging Brahmaputra, building more embankments, and relocating vulnerable communities. ₹ spent on relief every year could fund permanent infrastructure.

As someone who has visited Assam during monsoon, I can tell you the situation is heartbreaking. Glad to see both leaders prioritizing this. Hope the rehabilitation packages reach the most affected - especially tea garden workers and small farmers who lose everything. 🤞

Good photo-op but what about concrete action? Assam floods have become an annual routine - every year same story, same meetings, same promises. Need a permanent commission on Brahmaputra flood management with international experts. Not just photo opportunities in Delhi. 😒
