While Gowariker is undoubtedly talented, I hope IFFI doesn't become too focused on mainstream Bollywood. The festival should continue showcasing independent cinema from across India and the world. Need more Marathi, Malayalam, and other regional gems too. 🎥

Attending IFFI in Goa has been on my bucket list for years. As a film student from the UK, the appointment of a director known for epic historical dramas like Jodhaa Akbar is exciting. Hope this edition attracts more international filmmakers and audiences. Cheers to cinema! 🎞️

Good news! But my only concern is whether the festival will continue to be accessible to young filmmakers and students. IFFI should be more than just a star-studded event; it should be a learning ground for upcoming talent. Hope Gowariker keeps this in mind.

Having watched Gowariker's films during my time in India, I have immense respect for his craft. This appointment is a win for Indian cinema. Looking forward to seeing how he curates the lineup—especially hoping for more representation from South Asian and Southeast Asian cinema. 🇮🇳🌏
