92 is a good age, but it still feels too soon. Her energy was infectious. Just last year she seemed so full of life in that interview. End of an era indeed. Her voice will never be forgotten.

As someone who discovered Indian cinema later in life, Asha Bhosle's voice was my gateway. The versatility! From playful cabaret numbers to soulful devotionals. A masterclass in singing. My condolences to India.

While the tributes are nice, I wish our leaders would also talk about preserving our musical heritage and supporting young artists. Asha Tai's legacy is not just in words, but in action. We need institutions that nurture such talent.

Her Marathi folk songs are played in every household during Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra. She was ours, but she belonged to all of India. A true gem. Om Shanti.
