In Chennai, we've already had some heavy spells. Good that IMD is giving a heads-up for the ghat areas in TN. Traffic on the Ooty and Kodaikanal routes might get affected. Drive carefully!

The frequency of these western disturbances seems higher this year. While the rain is welcome for water tables, the intensity with hail and strong winds is worrying for crops and infrastructure.

Reading this from Dehradun. The alert for Uttarakhand is spot on—the sky has been looking very ominous since morning. Hope the pilgrims heading to Char Dham yatra are monitoring these updates closely.

Good to see detailed forecasts. But I wish the state disaster management authorities would be more proactive in sending SMS alerts to citizens in the affected districts, not just rely on news articles.

Assam and Meghalaya getting more rain... hope it doesn't lead to flooding like last year. The Brahmaputra levels need to be watched. Our meteorological department is doing a decent job with these granular warnings.
