"Army delivers fitting reply due to Gwalior-Chambal belt": MP chief minister Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday hailed the development in the defence sector in the state, stating that the country's defence forces have given fitting replies to enemies.
CM Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Missile and Propellant Manufacturing Facility by Adani Defence at Shivpuri, worth Rs 2,500 crore. Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) Director Jeet Adani was also present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister Yadav lauded the project by Adani Defence and Aerospace, stating that it will provide at least 4,000 employment opportunities.
Yadav said, "Whenever Chambal took a step forward, it sang a new song of patriotism. It is a magnificent empire rooted in the glorious tradition of the Scindia dynasty, due to whom the banner of Sanatan Dharma continued to fly high even during the Mughal rule. Today, in changing times, the Adani brothers established an industry, but even more wonderful is the development in the defence sector. About 4000-5000 people will get employment here."
"A few days ago, a new cement industry was established in Guna. Guna-Gwalior region is going to be transformed. History has been created on this land, and Shivpuri's history will be written in golden letters. Our airstrike happens due to the Chambal-Gwalior belt. The Army delivered a fitting reply through PM Modi, telling what the consequences would be of entering our houses. Nothing was available in Sandipani Vidyalaya during Congress' rule. Now, people are queuing up to take admissions in government schools," he said.
He also announced a new 14-kilometre road in Shivpuri and a cardiology unit in Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College.
"The national highway was constructed, but it is still difficult to get inside. I announce a new 14-kilometre road at a cost of about Rs 120 crore. I also announce the cardiology unit in Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College. I announce a new Tehsil for Shivpuri block," the Chief Minister said.
Union Minister Scindia hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the vision of self-reliance and Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Union Minister said, "Under the leadership of PM Modi, a proof of a developed India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, India possesses unprecedented capabilities in defence. Is being given in Shivpuri today. A new history, a new dawn of nation building, national service and national security. Whenever a crisis strikes the world, all eyes turn towards the Prime Minister and India with expectation. Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat 2047 is not just a goal for Shivpuri or MP, but for the whole of India."
The state-of-the-art defence manufacturing plant to be established in Shivpuri will position the region as a major defence manufacturing hub of the country. With the existing Small Arms Manufacturing Complex in Gwalior and this new advanced defence plant in Shivpuri, a robust defence ecosystem will develop across the entire Gwalior-Chambal region.

Interesting that they're linking a defence factory to the Chambal region's historical "dacoit" legacy. 😄 It's like turning a liability into an asset. But I wish they'd also focus on basic infrastructure like schools and hospitals more.
The CM's comment about airstrikes being possible due to Gwalior-Chambal belt seems a bit hyperbolic. But I'm all for Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence. The Adani group has experience in airports, hope they deliver quality here too.
Finally some development in Bundelkhand region! 🙏 The new road and cardiology unit are much needed. But I hope they monitor the environmental impact of such a big factory in a historically sensitive area.
Good to see private sector participation in defence. But why does every development announcement have to involve criticism of previous governments? Just focus on what's being done now. The 14 km road and tehsil announcement is practical and welcome.
As someone who follows defence tech, this is a big step. Missile propellant manufacturing is specialized. But I wonder about the long-term sustainability - will they train local workers or bring in experts from elsewhere? The "Make in India" vision needs skill development too.
