So relieved to hear there were no casualties. But a bus being "completely gutted" is terrifying. Were there no fire extinguishers on board? The RTO needs to be stricter with safety audits for these inter-state private buses.

A tyre burst leading to a full fire? That sounds like more than just a puncture. Possibly an electrical short circuit triggered by the impact? A proper investigation is needed to prevent future incidents on this busy route.

Even an MLA was on the bus! Goes to show accidents don't discriminate. Thankful for the safe evacuation. Hope the passengers get proper support and alternate arrangements to reach their destination.

Bhubaneswar to Malkajgiri is a long haul. Passengers must have been terrified. Kudos to the driver and the locals who must have helped. In India, we often rely on jugaad and quick public response in such crises.

While it's great no one was hurt, let's not just move on. This is a serious safety lapse. Were the tyres retreaded? Was the bus overloaded? Authorities should name and shame the travel company if norms were violated.
