Welcoming the European Union leaders, the President said that their presence as Chief Guests on Republic Day, marking the first participation of the European Union in India's Republic Day celebrations, holds special significance, reflecting the depth of "mutual engagement and the trust we place in one another".

The President said that India and Europe are connected not only by contemporary interests, but also by shared values such as democracy, pluralism, and an open market economy. Good to see the strategic partnership strengthening. The Free Trade Agreement should benefit our MSME sector and farmers if implemented well. Hope it leads to more access for Indian products in European markets.

Interesting to see Akash Ambani there. Shows how intertwined big business and diplomacy are now. Jio's 5G rollout could benefit from EU tech partnerships mentioned. The defence industry angle is also promising for 'Make in India'.

While the diplomatic language is positive, I hope this partnership is truly mutually beneficial. Sometimes FTAs can hurt local industries. We need to ensure our manufacturing base is strong enough to compete.

President Murmu's words on shared values of democracy and pluralism are important. In today's world, standing with partners who believe in these principles matters. The focus on climate finance is crucial for our sustainable development goals.

Strong ties with EU are good for balancing global equations. The defence partnership is key. Hope it translates into real technology transfer, not just buying equipment. 'Responsible innovation' in tech is a buzzword, but needs concrete action.
